Id be very happy with Berry or Logue with our pick.
A beast, who can intercept but then run off... speed and stamina and at 194 cm can take talls
and looks ready to go!
Why not take him and then look for outside run later? (seems to be our other priority, after getting Steele and seemingly Stevens)
I know... our recruiters will have dont their homework and I have not a fraction of their knowledge.. just speaking BS really...
anyway, it will be interesting to see !
Irrelavent of course.. except then again, maybe it helps against the go-home factor which IMO sets in early (e.g. before Gibbs was ever drafted).. if he is excited to come to the saints.. bring it on!

agreed... that is why we have recruiters, who have surely seen enough of both of them to make the call an whether or not Logue is better (or further progessed) than Collins, who we ignored last year to take the GrashSt Ick wrote:Kieran Collins was a ready made man mountain last year and played maybe 1 game this year. remember, Logue played a lot of senior WAFL footy this year, so there is probably enough information to go on

I just don't think he has the game which will translate into the real stuff.Con Gorozidis wrote:What is wrong with Berry? Was injured this season. Dominated draft camp. Venables, Florent, Logue, Rotham - they are all ok picks for late teens but they aren't worthy of a pick 10 in a strong draft, they are a big tier down from that top group.

It was a good week for Berry at the combine. He was a joint winner of the beep test (level 15.1) and claimed the 3km time trial outright (9:46 minutes), and also placed in the top-10 for repeat sprints, agility, clean hands and kicking tests. It reminded everyone of his exceptional athletic qualities and how he can perform when fit after an injury-ravaged year. At 191cm, Berry can move into different areas of the ground but in time sees himself in a midfield role. His leadership qualities stand out.

He seems smart, committed and athletic so I can see the attraction but he is just a bit awkward and I think will get found out when the pressure of the AFL comes about.
Pick 10 is a high pick it shouldn't be used on someone with a question mark so thats why I'd like either 2 late teens or (my preference) pay up and get a pick in the top 7.

Could I assume that Stevens and Hamling are involved in a 3 way trade with Freo? Highly doubt it, but man I hope we can swap first rounders with them somehow! More likely its just messing around with 4th round picks though.

Pick 10 for weller and pick 23 (hill trade)....familys reunited makes a lot of sense now
this is a good get...weller pick 13 in 2014...he will be a player.

Hawks have 23.
Would have be a straight swap 10 for Weller.

I really, really cannot see Freo giving Weller AND pick 23 up.

Hold your horses there. You reference the Hill trade but Freo gave that up to Hawks. Weller plays for Freo. The Recruit wrote:Pick 10 for weller and pick 23 (hill trade)....familys reunited makes a lot of sense now

I want Lachie more than anyone but can see it happening this year, mind you adding Hill and Bennell might mean competition for Freos outside leaning types heats up.

how does a 28 year old average player get pic 23??????Con Gorozidis wrote:Did I hear correctly?

Total BS!!!!!!
If you knew now that a young kid aged a8 was going to end up having a Mayne like career, you could take that to the bank... where would you take him? Around 23 I recon... looking at hit and miss rates and assuming you play it safe and take the known quantity of an AFL standard gop...
but then you get the guys whole f^&ing career!
for compo at age 28.. worth pick around 40
In the open draft.. worth pick around 40

Worth more as much as Mayne!!!
which makes a mockery of the system
Anyway... would not expect us to give up much
Re: Jaxons come on down
GWS trading 3 down to 2 makes no sense at all from an academy pov as noone would've bidded on Setters at 1 or 2.
Unless Dons have categorically said no they won't draft McGrath but Lions would've. Otherwise I just cannot get my head around this at all.
Would love someone to make some sense out of this one!
Oh, Koby nominates us. Second time in half a dozen years he has walked on a club when he can't get a game. Wish he'd just nominated us when Cripps walked out on us and saved us all the hassle. Waiting for us to look at Mitch Brown seriously then I really am in a time warp!!
Koby will come cheap but I do wonder how he fits in consider our current list plus Steele.

strange case... having played well enough to get 6 brownlow votes to then seemingly not even be in the mix later in the year
