If the PP is there to fix a poorly performing club then it should have to be traded.
That way the pick is immediately realised with a ready made player and the club gets instant benefit and on the road to recovery.

Considering the AFL are run by reactive simpletons I doubt they could comprehend sound logic like that.

They should have done the same thing with the expansion teams.
Give them the first five draft picks but say that three of them must be traded or lose them.

You could almost do the same with the FA compo.
