"We're not looking to trade Billy, we signed him for two years earlier this year," Bains said.
Some careful wording there to leave the door open...
So maybe in a little while..
"We' were not looking to trade Billy, but Xxxx came to us and offered a deal attractive to both Billy and the Saints..." Bains said.

Another Giant similar to him might be equally an impressive prospect.
A midfielder called Jake Barrett. Has not played as many games as Steele but has been literally tearing it up in the NEAFL. I know not a world beating competition but Barrett has averaged more than 25 possessions per game. He was BOG in the Grand Final. Just can't push his way into the senior team.
I guess our club would be looking at him if he is any good. Not rumoured anywhere that I have seen if they are. Just like the sound of this kid.
Big fan of Barrett always heard good things about his performances in the NEAFL and is considered stiff to not be getting some sort of a run around. If we could get him in a bundle with Steele that would be very handy. We would still need to address outside run though.
Tom Rockliff Apologises For “Insensitive Comments”
Think before you tweet
Brisbane Lions captain Tom Rockliff has apologised for comments he made on Twitter on Sunday.
The 26-year-old replied to his housemate’s tongue-in-cheek tweet with this comment:
Rockliff’s tweet was presumably an off-colour joke, but he has since copped backlash for it and has gone on to delete it and run this apology:
Tom Rockliff

I'd like to apologise for my insensitive comments posted on October 2 - they showed a lack of respect for women and I'm truly sorry

Someone on BF saying Steele is definitely coming and we are negotiating a second GWS player...all negotiations do not involve this year's picks.
So either next years second for Steele or next years first for both GWS players?
Acres is bigger than Ross. So not sure Ross can be described as 'unique' because of his size. Anyway it is the silly season and lots of words get thrown around to fill column space...

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

I've heard a couple of different sources suggesting a 3rd rounder for Steele would get it done, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's next years 3rd for Steele, or next years 2nd for him and one other??
