Re: Effing Lions get a Priority Pick (pick 19)
why is this a joke? club is on its knees and we have benefited along with alot of other clubs from there pain but yet you want to complain about them getting effectively a pic in the early to mid 20's after academy picks? seriously the only joke is your reaction to this... grow up mate not all about the saints

They are badly run. That's why they are shyte. They got a new coach which may help.
Te AFL didn't give the even more hopeless Dees a PP but have now because it's a QLD lovechild team.
Awaiting an apology.

Think an end of 1st round pick is ok....they should leave the first round totally alone including FA compensation IMO.
Nee!

Meanwhile, getting a priority pick after sacking Alves for Watson then another one after sacking Blight 15 rounds into his multi-million dollar deal was the height of efficiency and effectivenesssaintspremiers wrote:No you grow up. Pointlessl comparison skeptic. PP is only at the commissions discretion now.

Re: Effing Lions get a Priority Pick (pick 19)
The Lions need more than a Priority Pick, but it's a start, i don't have an issue with it.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?
Re: Effing Lions get a Priority Pick (pick 19)
they did give Melbourne a priority pick in 2009 - scully & trengove.

Re: Effing Lions get a Priority Pick (pick 19)
Rule changed in 2012 to commission discretion. In 2009 they clearly farked it up with Scully leaving.Rosco wrote:they did give Melbourne a priority pick in 2009 - scully & trengove.
IMO no team should ever get a PP anymore. The only reason Brisbane has been near bottom for 3 consecutive years
is because they have been so poorly run. The focus by the AFL when this happens to any club should be all about
helping sort out the administration, otherwise the PP is pointless.

Would't worry about it.
They'll end up f#cking it up anyway.
Basket case.

Re: Effing Lions get a Priority Pick (pick 19)
If the PP is there to fix a poorly performing club then it should have to be traded.
That way the pick is immediately realised with a ready made player and the club gets instant benefit and on the road to recovery.

Three flags in the past 20 years ...
It should be sink or swim for these expansion teams now.

Considering the AFL are run by reactive simpletons I doubt they could comprehend sound logic like that.Life Long Saint wrote:If the PP is there to fix a poorly performing club then it should have to be traded.

Re: Effing Lions get a Priority Pick (pick 19)
Brisbane stink and lost a young promising key defender to a concussion related retirement. I'm fine with them getting a second round compensation pick. If we lost Paddy through concussion (touch wood) I think we should be entitled to a second round pick even if we made the finals (so long as doctors can prove no risks were ever taken).

Re: Effing Lions get a Priority Pick (pick 19)
It is a joke. We already have draft picks according to ladder, salary caps the afl beeds to be more fair with academys and make sure everyone has professional faciliies thats it!! Should be a cap on coaches too The rest is upto the club, not this way!!

Interesting idea but what parameters do you put in place? Where do you draw the line??Goose is king wrote:Brisbane stink and lost a young promising key defender to a concussion related retirement. Perhaps any player that's a first round pick that has to retire due to injury within the first two seasons warrants a PP??
Good discussion point - again too complex for the AFL to grasp.
