I'd prefer to deal with Essendon directly, we have a history of trading pretty effectively with them.
That's true, maybe Billings and pick 10 for Baguley & their 2nd?

It would need a lot picks involved to even the ledger…

McCarthy is worth a fortune.

McKenzie would be worth a little bit but is turning 29.

Ballantyne is worth about a can of coke.

AFL.com article about general trade news mentioned that Jack Steele is still weighing up his options, and his decision will not be announced until after the GWS B&F this Friday

I just read that the GWS B+F is on this Friday. So this may well be why Steele has not made a public declaration for the Saints as that would tend to mean that he could not attend. Whereas there is no reason not to announce that he is staying. So I will take this as a good omen.

Agree with prior post... "Go very hard" at Tom Mitchell. Younger than Hartlett, proven in big games. We have the cap money.

Get Steele, Mitchell and our onball brigade is starting to look competitive with the best.

Find another decent backman and maybe a player with speed and skill. Motlop type ! He is suspect in big games, point being I think we need another line breaker.

I just hope we don't talk the talk around draft period. Need to hit and deliver like Geelong last year.

Yep. One of a kind. None of this off the shelf buso.

We're very niche.

I still think we will land Steele.

The delay could be as a result of the Saints trying to bundle two GWS players together for pick 10. Maybe Steele and Corr??

If we can nail those two trades for our first round pick then the club has done exceptionally well IMO.

They would have to send us something back.

Steele and Corr together are not worth a pick 10.

Might be waiting until after B&F as otherwise could be quite uncomfortable, especially seeing no guarantees on trades going through.

The week of rumour and innuendo continues, come Monday then it hot up, and have a feeling there could be some movement and perhaps people moved that some may be surprised at aka McEvoy like move- no inside info, just a feeling.

Maybe a second or third round pick. Those two won't be the difference in us going up the ladder.

Yeah and the Western Bulldogs have only won a single flag. If you change your name and sell out your history for commercial and bulls*** marketing reasons you are the weakest, most gutless, soulless club - even more than the start ups.

Look we need to delocate our brand to rise above geographical ties which gives us leverage in the market place australia wide including online synastic development. "Footscray" is such a downer - implies crime, drugs and cheap asian stores. "Western" has strong power as a word implying gunfighters and the great powers of the Western world. What sport do we play again?"

Suck it up you plastic franchise "Western Bulldogs" with just one premiership. We stood strong and kept our identity and proud history. We weren't desperate enough to change our name like were criminals going into the Witness Protection program.

Completely disagree with you on this Bluthy. Changed their name.....changed nothing else. Still at the Western Oval, still have the same home jumper, still have the same mascot. Don't think they've sold out their history. Maybe they did it to survive.
I've got lots of respect for the way they've not only survived but managed to succeed.
"Plastic franchise Western Bulldogs". Harsh, very harsh and unfair. You sound bitter and mean.
