Sigh...ah we going to have a Swans vs Giants GF. Is this what AFL has come to? How bloody ridiculous!

The extra week off hasn't helped Geelong, but who cares.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Be happy to see Geelong get belted. Can't stand Scott, Selwood to name a couple.

same about the care factor...........Wayne42 wrote:The extra week off hasn't helped Geelong, but who cares.
but really disagree with the bye for all after last round.........
winner of top four game forced to have another bye
afl have stuffed up in my opinion based on a kneejerk reaction to last year.

Big story IMO
if the game keeps going on like this, it's a team changing performance for Geelong and not for the better...
I'd go as far to say that the bulk of this team is cooked and the list would need some major changes

I wasn't talking about the bye after round 23, i was talking about Geelong playing a game and then having another week off, has to be a momentum killer.chook23 wrote:same about the care factor...........Wayne42 wrote:The extra week off hasn't helped Geelong, but who cares.

Let's see what happens with GWS.

Agree. The double bye for the Top 4 winners of week 1 is a real disavantage.

over the last 20 years about 90% of teams who have have had the one week off after winning the final between top four (qualifying final) HAVE WON
so has not been a momentum killer
maybe 2 byes in three week is!!!!!!!

Sydney's pressure is intense. They don't look like the team that's had two weeks rest in the last three.

Agree. The Cats now have a lot of older players falling off the cliff.skeptic wrote:Big story IMO

In addition most of their top-up players that "they" chose are not that good, with Dangerfield who chose "them" being their one saving grace (so pure luck that he fellinto their club due to where he wanted to live. Thy rolled the dice and tried to get in before GWS, and have now lost.
So the "Dangerfield Effect" may have bitten then on the bum for if they did not know they were getting him they not have gone down the full-blown top up mode that they have.

Re: Dangers 14 disp 1st quarter can't save the old and slow
If its a Swans GWS Grand Final, won't even bother watching it as I couldn't be less interested. Swans are every bit cheaters as Essendon, except the AFL allows them to cheat the salary cap.
My only hope next week if it's Swans GWS is an extremely empty MCC and AFL Members area and the smallest crowd since the Grand Final was played at Princes Park.
I am very much a disillusioned football follower.

The topping up policy doesn't really work and North , Geelong and Hawthorn all topping up rather than re-build.saintsRrising wrote:Agree. The Cats now have a lot of older players falling off the cliff.skeptic wrote:Big story IMO

In the end bottoming out and re-building with young players coming through together is better.
Bulldogs and Saints are. On the right track.
Hate Geelong with a passion so enjoying the smashing!

Re: Dangers 14 disp 1st quarter can't save the old and slow
We talk about GWS becoming a super power. With Sydney's academy kids pouring in year after year ready to go after being groomed since they were 15, they could very well be a huge force for years to come. Look at their reaction to Mitchell - meh we'll offer you something average cos if you leave we can just replace you with a super skilled young academy kid on low wage - and in fact that suits us cos we can use the draft pick to fill any holes our acamedy kids can't. Its insane. AFL have created two Sydney superpowers. This is no fluke - this is exactly what they designed and they will fapping off to this.

There was a lot of suggestion that we should go after Motlop... Tonight's game has put that to bed entire = Spud
Re: Dangers 14 disp 1st quarter can't save the old and slow
4 of Geelongs other leading players tonight...
Were 30+
They want to add 29yo Deledio
What is it with the Scotts? All their eggs in one basket??

Motlop was woeful, hope the Cats keep him until he decides he wants to retire.
