Re: Hot Rumour
Maybe "Bill"y rather than "Bill"ings???
If that was a straight up trade, we'd be crazy. The Tigers would jump, because a 21 year old future jet with 30-40 games is more than they would get next year with F.A compo.
Now if the Tigers were throwing in their 2nd rounder too, then everybody has their price....

I drive a 2009 Suzuki Swift, it's only got about 72 kw but the little engine sings so sweet,
she makes me happy and I can drive her for hours, without any back pain
and jump out feeling fine.
A Porsche would hurt my back, I would be in pain for days afterwards.
The ongoing costs such as insurance and servicing would hurt my bank balance even worse.

Re: Hot Rumour
These bizarre rumours about trading Billings are just coming from some impatient saints supporters. Aint gunna happen. We need more creative, piercing kicking, play making players like Jack not less.
Bluthy stares angrily around the room "You people, all of you, ALL OF YOU, leave him alone"
Billings is a touch player - like Rioli - his best stuff will be done on intuition and sharp reactions but its not a mechanical exercise like squeezing toothpaste out of a tube. He needs to get to a level with fitness and strength where he has a strong AFL base and not killing himself just keeping up with the play and tackling. Then he'll be able to relax into games and have more juice to let more of the magic flow. Patience my pets. The Bill is coming - and its going to be huge!

Re: Hot Rumour
Oh ffs.
When are people going to stop the childish nonsense that players will play for the clubs they barracked for when they were kids.
We have the same chance of getting Dusty as we have of getting Hurley or Geelong have of getting Jack Steven.
Zero.

Re: Hot Rumour
I don't agree - yes its unlikely as Martin can still be part of a tigers rebuild. But big name players can move eg Danger. With Hardwick contracted for two more years and making that club a hellhole - and apparently Dusty not getting on with him - that creates some friction. Didn't Martin almost end up at Sydney near his last contract negotiations? I'd put it at small % he''ll move and even smaller he'll come to us but weirder things have happened.Con Gorozidis wrote:Oh ffs.

And lets not get too cocky about Steven. We need to build a good midfield around him so he's not killing himself inside and outside every game and can see a possible flag in his future. FA works both ways.
