With that first photo, did they play with a smaller ball back then compared to nowadays?prwilkinson wrote:Could always have a statue of Ian Stewart watering the ground.
A statue of Tony Lockett holding off Steve Silvagni with one arm and marking the ball with the other would be a pretty amazing statue... How many did Tony kick that day.... 12?
OR...
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Long before Plugger there was the Cowboy
The whole ground would lift when the cowboy went near the ball
He played in '66 and has been involved with club in some form ever since
To me epitomised the passion of the club during great days and then ordinary

Nup, if anything it was a little bigger and more oval shaped. Plugger was just a massive unit.Jacks Back wrote:With that first photo, did they play with a smaller ball back then compared to nowadays?prwilkinson wrote:Could always have a statue of Ian Stewart watering the ground.

Plugger tucking into a "hot fat footy snack", as per the recipe from another Moorabbin legend, Massive Merv. IIRC, it was a loaf of bread, hollowed out and filled with batter and deep fried, then that was placed inside another, larger hollowed out loaf, dipped in batter and deep fried again. Mmmmmmmmm! Hot fat footy snack!
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

Murals are the go. Commission murals all over the place which depict the greats of Moorabbin in action. Lets establish a list of 42 including the 66 Premiership side and the best 22 outside of those.

murals are background art. an easy filler. unless it's the bloody sistine chapel you need a focal point.CQ SAINT wrote:Murals are the go. Has to be Baldock, and don't forget our current home ground is named after the Doc, "Doclands"

Shades of the Harold Holt memorial swimming pool. Or the fact the Burke and Wills statue stood on a fountain for years, when they died of thirst.mr six o'clock wrote:With the Saints to return to Linton st in 2018 .
Afterall the Anthony Howard Lockett elite training facility may have people laughing !
I thought a statue of The Doc or maybe Plugger till I saw the post suggesting Winmar's Stance. We've always transcended football and that image stands for more than just the game or the club.
Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.
