Actually not far off my ideal trade - although I was thinking Ahern instead of Tomlinson ( happy to be corrected on that) I would also add panther to Freo and Armo to gws ( ie lee and panther to freo, longer and armo to gws) ( may not need our highest pick to go if this trade was done ) to account for the experience etc lost with Armo - I would rookie Del to complete the dealings

Pick 47 means pretty much nothing to GWS. Effectively that trade is proposing they give up McCarthy (former pick 14), Marchbank (pick 6), Tomlinson (pick 9) and Steele (pick 24) for Longer and pick 10. Not gonna get close. And if Freo weren't willing to trade Weller last year to get McCarthy they certainly aren't now. Weller's value has gone up and McCarthy's has gone down.They will also almost certainly be able to pick up Lee as a DFA if they want to.

I think it's important to remember that GWS still have to cut their list down AND have three (?) first round picks already.

On top of that they are already loaded with first round picks.

They will be looking to meet their NEEDS. It's about quality to them now, not quantity.


So hypothetically, if they needed a ruckman and they thought Longer was the absolute best option for them, I can't see why they wouldn't throw anything the Saints want at him.

The system is set up so GWS can literally have anyone they want & that wants to go to them because they can trump any other clubs offer.

Now that Tomlinson has finally got a game with GWS ( and well deserved) he wants to stay and not go so I don't think he will be part of our plans for 2017.
