Re: Port v Sandy elimination final
Pierce finally in the ruck. Longer has been huge to take the contested ball advantage away from Port which was meant to be their strength.

NOK pure class. Can't wait to see what he can do next year. We have some really neat ball users - Sinclair, NOK, GResham - hope they can really show it next year in the big show

Tom Lee looks incredible at this level.
Wow, margin has really blown out in this last quarter.

Classic Eli poor kick. REally needs to work on that decision making. Gets plenty of it but if you don't use it well you shoot your team in the foot.
Re: Port v Sandy elimination final
Billy is taking marks today!!! Its amazing what confidence does. The reports of his demise are greatly exaggerated

No way Longer ever be our #1 ruckman. Hickey has far superior skills. We'd be mad to trade Hickey, as suggested by Citywest.

Re: Port v Sandy elimination final
I'm just pointing out that finals is who other footy world - bash and crash ruckmen tend to thrive in that environment who can open up space for the onballers and hurt the oppo ones - the more technical ones may not. It's another element to the ruck jigsaw to consider. Lets see if Hicks can get through another year without injury. I like having the different options.Sainternist wrote:No way Longer ever be our #1 ruckman. Hickey has far superior skills. We'd be mad to trade Hickey, as suggested by Citywest.

45 point win to Sandy. By the far the best team all day although it tightens up a bit in the 3rd qtr. Well done lads. Next week is Willy so will need to play at least at that level if not better. Great experience for the likes of Rice, Sincs, NOK etc. to play these finals games.

Re: Port v Sandy elimination final
I won't dispute that Billy can still offer tremendous value. He'll be very handy as a second-tier ruckman. Hickey just had a coming-of-age season. He really looks set to develop into an outstanding ruckman. At this stage, trading him would seem insane. Quality rucks are like gold.Bluthy wrote:I'm just pointing out that finals is who other footy world - bash and crash ruckmen tend to thrive in that environment who can open up space for the onballers and hurt the oppo ones - the more technical ones may not. Re: Port v Sandy elimination final
It depends as to whether he is happy enough to play VFL and wait for an injury to the #1 ruckman?

Re: Port v Sandy elimination final
Does anyone know the eligibility rules and whether any Saints listed players will play next week?
