Anyway - I am dead keen on Jack Steele for something equivalent to a pick 20.
Perfect scenario we get Steele & Marchbank. That would go away to solving our midfield & medium-tall defender issues.

The pittard talk is legit.

Back story, grew up as a mad sainter, Vic boy, we told him we were going to take him at pick 16, enter A. Lovett, he went to port, was enjoying it until Richo left, Hinkley's a bit of a ****, super strict re havin an occasional beer etc as opposed to richo who thinks it's a good thing for bonding etc, there was division in the ranks, having a few bad seasons kinda killed the dream for a few of the younger boys, he might not be the only one looking for a trade. There was talk through his manager about mid way through the season that he was keen on the saints. Though he doesn't have much love for roo after a choice (and hilarious) sledge directed pittard's way. I'm sure his massive bump on roo in round 1 this year was a bit of payback.

However, I have no idea if it will materialise or not, we have a lot of half back flankers..
You should post more RODOS......

Too many half back flankers now... Rather Mids & 1 KPD... (and keep pick 10)

I am starting to wonder if Savage is trade bait?

Surely he has little trade value.
I just dont see what team would be interested in him unless they got him cheap.

Not a bad player but is not going to really strengthen a team...

Some of the posters on here are crazy.

Giving up a top 10 pick for two blokes who can't get a game at GWS - Maybe they are good and are just being held out of the side from other first round picks... But THEY ARENT GETTING A GAME. So why would you want to give up a top 10 pick for them?

One thing we have an abundance of is medium/tall defenders (some are actually really decent players) but as soon as a mediocre medium defender wants out, all of a sudden he is a must have.

People losing their minds and saying we HAVE to get Jaeger or we HAVE to pay Fyfe $2 million a year.

It's just crazy.

We have a young core who just managed to finish the season in 9th place.
They all seem to get along pretty well too, which is massive.

What do you think happens to the group dynamic of we go out and pay huge money to get someone in, and start paying him a lot more than a 3x best and fairest winner?

The way to build a winning list is to build a winning culture. 22 blokes who will go out and die for each other every week is better than a couple of overpaid stars.

Wait for them to come to us for less. Don't pay anyone $1 million a season anymore, it's just crazy and will only cause tension down the road

He's probably out of the age demographic we are going for.

Agree too old for us and probably in a position we dont need anyone.
But youd think he will be off somewhere or other. He is a competent player.

Before anyone gets too excited, I will preface this by saying as I have said before, lots of chatter takes place and many things don't come to fruition.
However talks are strong that could very well see families come together at the Saints.
You can fill in the blanks and I won't confirm or deny anything.
