Re: Jaxons come on down
What will be of some interest with Freeman is do they consider him for the VFL Final this weekend?
Or do they take the 7 consecutive weeks of running onto a park as sufficient and manage him to a full pre season campaign with a view to Round 1 in 2017?
Remember he is a top 10 Draft Pick so has the tools - and given our interest in him I would speculate that there was a call between Billings and Freeman when we took Billings at Number 3 - followed by Dunstan and Acres at where they fell.
So the skills of Dunstan and Acres speak to the very high calibre of that Draft noting that both Dunstan and Acres (allowing for injury and the discontinued Sub rule which did not work to his favor but he immediately showed sublime reefing possession winning and disposal skills from the start, announcing himself as something else) showed their credentials immediately on their introduction to AFL football.
So what we have is Billings, Freeman, Dunstan and Acres all in the top 20 in what was a very high class year.

Lots of meetings going on in AFL all the time between players and other clubs most of which amount to nothing.
Been going on for years.

He wasnt even on the country so must have been via Skype.
Hurley was never leaving. If he met or spoke with with other clubs it was just to feel a little love and to sate his ego. Same for Heppell.
Stonecold assumes having a casual conversation with a player mgr (which means nothing) is the same as 'locked in'.

StoneCold assumes nothing Con!!!!!
St.Kilda Football Club chased both Dyson and Hurl's, didn't get either, end of story!!!!!
Lock on Heppell, was a phrase I used, designed to attract the attention of the UN-informed such as yourself!!!!!
At one point in time, Hurl's was choosing between us and.Richmond, if he decided to leave
, which of cause he did not!!!!!!

You don't really believe he's going to Ess via the pre season draft do you...? 'Chased' means we spoke to their managers along with the 16 other clubs.
Making a phone call to a player Mgr means nothing. All clubs can therefore be said to have 'chased' them under your definition.
They were never leaving. They were just determining their market value so they could go back to Essendon and ask for it.

So we are paying for 3 years in the hope of maybe getting 1 years worth?
Would want to be a cross of Ablett, Judd and Fyfe in that one year for us to get value!
