Re: Jaxons come on down
Not much I would think going on past performances.
If you throw enough stones in the air you are bound to catch the odd one on the way down.
Even stone cold can manage to do that.
But hey, don't let me rain on your parade.
Tony74 is a far far more reliable source.

Don't think we are going to be able to satisfy GC on JOM.Myron Gaines wrote:I recal you had a bit of O'Meara info last year. Steele on the other hand ...
And even though recently signed I hear Longer could be traded.

JOM is a big risk so I'm okay with missing out on him.BackFromUSA wrote:Don't think we are going to be able to satisfy GC on JOM.Myron Gaines wrote:I recal you had a bit of O'Meara info last year. Billy just re-signed I'd be surprised if he was traded.

Yes they can. They only become a delisted free agent if not offered a contract from their current club.BackFromUSA wrote:Can't be traded if they ain't signedMyron Gaines wrote:JOM is a big risk so I'm okay with missing out on him.BackFromUSA wrote:Don't think we are going to be able to satisfy GC on JOM.Myron Gaines wrote:I recal you had a bit of O'Meara info last year. Anyway, I'd be happy to trade Longer if it meant filling a gap somewhere else on the park. Hickey with Pierce & Holmes backup is enough.

Re: Jaxons come on down
I know the clubs thinks a lot of Billy Longer, and we have been told often enough he will end up better than Hickey, so is it conceivable that it is Hickey that will be shopped around?

Re: Jaxons come on down
Longer isn't going to be as good as Hickey. All things going well, Hickey will be one of the great ruckmen. However, I'm sure the Club does think a lot of Longer, as do many. There's room for both of them.borderbarry wrote:I know the clubs thinks a lot of Billy Longer, and we have been told often enough he will end up better than Hickey, so is it conceivable that it is Hickey that will be shopped around?
Re: Jaxons come on down
Longer struggles to get a kick at Sandy
Huge concern
He's just a bash n crash ruckman

Re: Jaxons come on down
A lot of conversations and very exciting ones are going on at the moment.
However a lot are just chatter and don't come off.
Can tell you we are getting approaches from lots of managers via players who want to join us which is very exciting.
I will not talk about players we are trading out because it is not fair on them yet but two are under serious consideration both of which may get us approximately a second round pick each.
And in response to earlier messages will definitely not be Tom Hickey.
Steele will be a Saint for sure if he leaves GWS which is not 100% decided yet.
We are very very interested in JOM subject to a stringent medical test and are in final 3 of teams he would be happy to join.
In fact I would say if we are really satisfied with his medical he will be a Saint and we can satisfy GC and won't be selling the farm or our future, but he will cost and you must give to get.
People high up at our club think he could be the best footballer in competition when fit.
We are desperate for another backman as well and are keen on a recent b & f winner from one of the teams in the finals who was left out of his side this round.
And MC Gusto no re Laverde, we prefer WH-E from Giants for that type.
That's the update for now will try and keep all loyal Saints fans updated throughout trade period as always so you get the news first but can the moderators block people like Saynta seeing the Intel I share for loyal Saints fans?
