Team vs Brisvegas
Who comes in?
I think Minch may get a look in, or Sinclair, but at whose expense?

With McCartin out do they look at Shenton?
Lonie didn't do much, does Templeton get a game or Sinclair come back?

I reckon White will get a run with week.
McCartin Out. White in. Fingers crossed for Chips.

"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

+1
Add Lonie to the outs, and play both Sinclair and Templeton

Re: Team vs Brisvegas
I don't think the best player in the comp would have looked good in the Saints v Tiges game. The game seemed to drag everyone down a level. The fact that Ross and Acres could look half decent does say a lot for them. We need to have a big win against Brisbane just to end the season on a big note for the club. Probably drop Wright, Lonie for Sinclair and Shenton who is the new goal-kicking machine, and lucky dip for a third in for Paddy. Holmes should go around again, as no point is rushing Hickey in even if he is fit- he has done his job this season and should be in cotton wool for next year.

Re: Team vs Brisvegas
Geary is still sore, I'd leave him out and bring in White for a debut. The young bloke has a long summer in the weights room in front of him, give him a taste so he knows what all the hard work is for. Roberton can play closer to goal in the Geary role, and White plays half back with Joey and Savage.
Lonie was really poor IMO, he couldn't stick tackle to save himself, and he really needs to make the most of his opportunities in front of goal. Either Sinclair or Templeton come in for him.
I'm not sure if Holmes was brought in last week because Hampson is OK in the middle but a spud around the ground, but Martin is much a better footballer and will have far more impact on the contest than Hampson would ever have had. So I wouldn't be surprised if we go for a different ruck setup this week. We potentially bring Pierce in to replace McCartin anyway, so I think Pierce and Longer is a better combo than Pierce and Holmes.
Fisher should come in if he's even 80% fit, but not sure who makes way??

Re: Team vs Brisvegas
Lonie should stay IN.
People were saying drop McKenzie after one week, but after a few games he's much improved.
The young guys need a few weeks to pick up the pace.
There's no point in dropping Lonie. Let him stay in and build confidence for next year.

White in for Wright
Longer and Pierce for Paddy and Holmes.

Re: Team vs Brisvegas
White's a probable in.
http://www.saints.com.au/news/2016-08-2 ... n-on-debut
Lonie would be lucky to get another game.
Poor performance from him, but probably not his fault, Just too small and too light to play with the grown ups. At this stage at least.
Shenton and Eli both deserve another chance on their VFL performances, but they won't get it.

Re: Team vs Brisvegas
the undercover boss- tony74- told us on here that Holmes was brought in because of Hampson, he said Holmsey would be a good match in the ruck, and "it will be wet so no marking around the ground"St Chris wrote:Geary is still sore, I'd leave him out and bring in White for a debut. but hitouts went 38-40 (we got 38) and Holmes got one kick and 5 handballs from memory.
Not sure if he really did a good job, other than nearly breaking even in the ruck.

White will debut. Lock it in.
Has been close a few times. Hurt his hammy & then was kept out after a few good wins.
Some family ties in the game as well with Leppa being cousins with one of his parents
