Billings
Much better today... Particularly after half time
Last week he was a almost pathetic ... But as long as he shows the highs, the inconsistency is ok at 21
Gap will diminish in time.
Acres, Newnes, Gresham, Ross, McCartin, Billings & Webster have indicated they are players

Re: Billings
Fair appraisal. Did little in the first half though most of his possies in the 3rd were as a result of us letting the Tigers of their leash. I'd really love to see him cut loose next week.

Re: Billings
Totally agree. Add the players from other clubs that have improved heaps like Hickey, Weller, Roberton and Membrey and we're showing signs of a good future.BigMart wrote:Much better today... Particularly after half time

Re: Billings
I agree! I was cold on him after his first game this year...I just thought he didn't have the tools. I was dead wrong though...looks like a very solid prospect!HitTheBoundary wrote:McKenzie will be a player.

Re: Billings
Very good game from JB. 25 disposals, 5 tackles and a goal. I don't remember seeing these kinds of games from Newnes and Ross when they were 21 but they turned into solid players.

Re: Billings
Spot on lintonstreet. Has to be priority ahead of anything else. Hopefully we can do multiple things as we've done over the past few seasons.lintonstreet wrote:bobmurray wrote:Definitely need another Key Back and another Key Forward

Re: Billings
Certainly a strong 2 nd half from billings. Still think his confidence is very low but hopefully getting a few touches will help with that.
I watched him very closely all game and must admit I was shocked to see he had 25 possessions! Anyway I think he just needs to plug away - have a strong preseseason and dominate from round 1 next year

Re: Billings
One of the most ineffectual 25 touch & 1 goal games you'll see. Of course he improved on last weeks game. We played Richmond instead of Sydney. Richmond laid 44 tackles & applied minimal pressure. Billings needs to start playing well when the heat is on & be a more damaging player. That was his pre-draft bio. He's still young & has time on his side. But we invested pick 3 on the kid so the bar has been set high.

Re: Billings
His second half was very good. An underrated aspect of his game is his quick handballing when in tight and under pressure. He got a lot of his own ball yesterday. Will definitely be a star for us in years to come, no doubt about it.

Re: Billings
The best thing about him yesterday was he went hard at the ball and hard in defence. It didn't always come off but he had a crack. At one stage right in front of me he threw himself at one of the Richmond talls, might have been Hampson; he rebounded off him with an almighty thud and I honestly thought he wouldn't get up. But he did get up, like the everyready bunny, and got straight back in.
Another pre-season or two and he'll be rewarded. And Dusty won't dare try the don't argue on him again.
