What stonecold is attempting to have us believe is that Essendon just signed Hurley to 5*$800k but that stonecold and st kilda and all the other 16 clubs are in possession of some negative info about Hurley but that Essendon and Essendon alone dont know about it.

1. Carlisle was not contracted at Essendon for 2016. He publicly said he wanted out and would not renew his contract. He was OOC when we traded for him.
2. Hurley WAS ALWAYS contracted for 2017. He never said anything publicly.

But ok - they are exactly the same.

Very easy to celebrate missing out, but I'm disappointed. Hurley would have been a great get. Quality players dont grow on trees, and despite us now being "a destination club", there aren't many banging down the door.

Saints withdrew offer, not sure why, but we withdrew, as did Demons apparently!!!!!

Fun while it lasted, but time to move on!!!!!

We forced Essendope to pay big dollars to retain Hurley.
5 year extension worth $4 million.
That is a small win as payback for their lying over Lovett, lying over what they gave to Carlisle and forcing us to give up pick 6 (ultimately).
We would have had to pay Essendon big to get him anyhow.
This year's first rounder and picks from next year as well.

Luv it that Essendon has had to pay way over his true worth to keep him. He's a good player but he's definitely not in the $800K+ per year echelon of players for crying out loud. So glad he won't be at the Saints, there are better options out there.

They stopped minting 2 cents a long time ago.
Although they are still in circulation they have stopped minting 5 cents coins recently.
Shortly the minimum coin in circulation will be 10 cents.

Better than "2 bob's worth" (2 cents has a lot more currency, you can say) ... although they stopped minting both in the last millenium.

The change to decimal currency took place in February 1966 so I think the last 2 bob was minted in 1965.
I have a tin full of LSD money but am not officially a coin collector so am willing to be called wrong.
