I think I will accept as their answer the fact that Mr Nicholls has been banished to the unimportant WCEv Haw game, and Mr Schmitt to the equally unimportant Sydv NM match, whilst Mr Fleer ( umpire 26 , who actually did a very good job in not getting sucked in by his peers) is elevated to the blockbuster between GWS and Freo.

Brian Taylor made some statements on tv about 5 or 6 weeks ago about how 'professional' the Hawthorn footy team is in regard to their interactions with umpires. He said that they have photos of each umpire in the locker rooms (i assume he meant at their training base) with the faces and names of each umpire and all players are asked to memorise the name and the matching face. When it's time for umpires to enter rooms before a game they'll get handshakes just like every other team but the players will say "hi John" or "hi Matt" or "hi Ray"

If you show resoect and have better relationships with people in your workplace you usually get better outcomes. That's a policy we should embrace and adopt as a matter of 'business as usual' at the Saints.

Watched some highlights of last night's game. It still took ages for the whistle to finally blow as Burgoyne was given an hour to get rid of the ball. It was like the umpire regrettably knew he had to give a free.

All we needed was that extra win (the Hawthorn game was the obvious one snatched from us) and we'd be looking at replacing North in the eight next week. Chances are we'll finish outside of the eight on percentage. Filthy maggots have succeeded!

Doesn't mean that they weren't crap.
I'm just sick of the team not getting the same frees that other teams get...It's not a perception issue either...The stats show clearly that we receive the least amount of frees for every game...I can't accept that other teams are just that much fairer or more deserving than we are. It's beyond a joke now.

Even though we won, we lost the free kick count again 19-22.
