Saints to Throw Kitchen Sink at Fyfe
St Kilda FC are set to throw the kitchen sink at Freo's Nat Fyfe.
Fyfe has recently told the Fremantle FC that he will look at his options before deciding.
St Kilda has been using the minimum (95%) of their salary cap for the past 3 years and it is expected to have at least $1.5million per year for 5 years for an offer (if they use most if not all of it).
Could Fyfe be heading to the Saints.
This is just based on a Facebook post and purely rumour with no credentials behind it but what a move that would be for the club.

Would prefer him to anyone. Everyone has been raving about Dangerfield this year, forgetting Fyfe who should have won the last two Brownlows.

Wouldn't surprise me if this guy has been our ultimate long term target all along. The club has kept saying that our window opens in 2018, and, lo and behold, Fyfe is out of contract at the end of 2017.......

I will have a spare kitchen sink once I demolish the single concrete blockwork wall between my two apartments and combine the two kitchens on either side of that wall into one.

We could go after Hurley as well.

Essendon say they would want something for him.
I think we could quietly deliver them a case of Thymosin Beta 4 direct from China.

Re: Saints to Throw Kitchen Sink at Fyfe
What we have assembled is most of what we need.
Any players that we gain now will only make a small difference unless they are absolute cream.
Fyfye is the best of the best.
He is one of only a small group of players that could radically improve us in just the one aquisition.
I would go for him above all others and postionally our midfield is the area is in most need of elite talent.

Re: Saints to Throw Kitchen Sink at Fyfe
Doesn't he have ongoing injury concerns like a few others? Played in about 5 of their last 25 games.

Re: Saints to Throw Kitchen Sink at Fyfe
He'd be a FA so that's damn juicy. I couldn't see us offering $1.5 for 5 years - that would put incredible pressure on our cap when we will have genuine stars in 3 years wanting to be paid something decent. I could see them front end something at the start at 1.5 for say 3 - crazy money still but he is arguably the hottest property in the AFL - on field and off-field marketing (the gals love him)
But he's a WA boy and Freo's franchise player that they market heavily - would be surprised to see him leave. Unless he's already sick of Lyon's boring grinding approach. I don't see his leg as a huge issue - bones break and then heal. The only caveat with him is he's not as good disposal as you would expect of one of the top mids in comp - but is a beast and great in the air. Imagine WA boys Acres and Fyfe bulldozing their way in the middle in a couple of years. Yowza.

This would be my only concern8856brother wrote:Doesn't he have ongoing injury concerns like a few others? Played in about 5 of their last 25 games.
He played in 2015 with that leg fracture which undoubtably led to him re-fracturing it again this year . He then had a plate inserted so you would have to wonder if his leg will ever be as good as it was .
Next year will be interesting . If he struggles , clubs may lose interest .

I'll never forget that final he played with the broken leg.mr six o'clock wrote:This would be my only concern8856brother wrote:Doesn't he have ongoing injury concerns like a few others? Played in about 5 of their last 25 games.

Couldn't break into a run, only played a half and had double (?) the amount of contested possessions than anyone else.
He is God (if his leg heals)
Even if he is only at 80% he'll still be a monster & what he'd bring to the club in terms of training would be invaluable to younger blokes

They don't say we're not!Playon wrote:Yes i know that, but they don't say Saints to throw the kitchen sink at him with 1.5 mill. Totally different
It may also be an attraction to Fyfe that we're the last club on earth who would hire Lyon when he and freo part ways.

They don't say we are either to keep it in perspective.markp wrote:They don't say we're not!Playon wrote:Yes i know that, but they don't say Saints to throw the kitchen sink at him with 1.5 mill. Totally different

And if you want to hear what Finnis said about list management today
https://www.sen.com.au/news/afl/08-16/f ... PHXK0rY.97
I'm hoping that we DO chase Fyfe, but I'm not going to base that on what that facebook page is claiming. Did you hear from the club that were offering 1.5 mill a year? Have you heard were even going to make an offer

Re: Saints to Throw Kitchen Sink at Fyfe
Fyfe is saying what every free agent has been saying lately, I don't expect he'll go anywhere.
He's a country lad that works on the farm with his old man and drives trucks and tractors.
Besides one player won't win you a premiership, I'd prefer Hurley and Steele
