Re: Team v Carlton
Holmes is the surprise, is that a first for the year? Is Hickey under an injury cloud?

Re: Team v Carlton
Probably but they got to give Holmes one more go before they get rid of him
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Don't know what the point is. Those players surely must go at year's end? Last chance saloon?

Well if they were getting rid of him, why would they give him one more go? Surely they'd have their minds made up by now and perhaps play Pierce.magnifisaint wrote:Probably but they got to give Holmes one more go before they get rid of him
I don't expect him to play, but then I dont get why he was included when it seems he's not required

Armo must be getting a rest, not sure why else he'd be in the 7 (whereby 3 get omitted). Minch might keep his pave if so?

Re: Team v Carlton
Looks like they've gone for our strongest possible team to win, which I applaud. The exception is McCartin. I reckon we are better with him in, but he has missed a fair chunk of footy. Perhaps one more in the VFL before he's back

Re: Team v Carlton
Maybe Hickey to rest in Forward line - hence play the 2 rucks........ Holmes would jump all over Kreuser at centre bounces.
Hickey could stretch Carlton backline, take a bit of the heat off Bruce. Hickey too dangerous too be allowed too much latitude around the forward area?????????????????

Re: Team v Carlton
Like the way you're thinking Loris. Last year we had Longer in the ruck and we tried Hickey in the forward line, and it just didn't work. But Hickey has improved about 100% this year and he does look a lot more dangerous uo forward than last year.loris wrote:Maybe Hickey to rest in Forward line - hence play the 2 rucks........ Further upside would be allowing Bruce to stay in the forward line. Because we've only played one ruckman this year Bruce has been required to run in the ruck, and I reckon this has negatively impacted on his goal kicking.

Richo said they won't keep Paddy in cotton wool but they didn't pick him.
Why not?
And...I suspect Armo might be rested. Back troubles catching up with him.

Re: Team v Carlton
About time Armo has been below par for him for a large part of the year. Why clubs keep persisting with these injured players when other players are screaming for opportunites is a mystery?WellardSaint wrote:Richo said they won't keep Paddy in cotton wool but they didn't pick him.

He's missed a fair bit of football and needs some confidence in the VFL? That's my guess.WellardSaint wrote:Richo said they won't keep Paddy in cotton wool but they didn't pick him.

That might be the thinking. I reckon he's shown enough this season though to suggest he will be a gun player.
