Too old for us.
The biggest fool's gold is going for mature players before you are ready.
He would want 800k a year x 4 and Richmond would want a top 3 pick (which we dont have).

At the right price. Turns 27 in October. Still has 5 or 6 years footy in front of him.

Any team would salivate at the chance. won't happen.

If he left Richmond the place would implode, Hardwick would be sacked and the club would finally have a clean out. Not a great time to be a Tiger fan...

Rance is quite possibly the best defender in the AFL at present and is also a very attacking one.

Hawks to get him and go for 5 in a row.

Is he FA? Otherwise no - cost too much in draft picks for a guy outside our target age bracket.
Re: Would we be interested if Rance was on offer and ...
I would take him in a heart beat. Give them our first pick but no more than that. Our spine would then be Rance, Carlisle, Steven, Bruce and McCartin. Not too shabby.

Just my opinion!
Most unaccountable key defender since Paul Roos.
Rarely, if ever, picks up best forward.
Will spoil one on one. Pack situation, lets/hopes team mate crunches the pack or gets crunched, trying to spoil.
Can and does get caught out by his opponent chasing kicks.

If he came at the right price you would be crazy not to grab him... Elite player while he may be slightly out of out age demographic imagine his smooth a transition it would be for Hugh Goddard and any other incumbent...

Obviously youd take him but Id also take Dangerfield, Cameron, Tom Lynch and Fyfe.
But so what? Do people really think a pick 10 would get it done?
I mean get real.
Not sure what the point of these kind of threads is.
May as well ask if we had a time machine would we get Lee Matthews at his peak.
Similarly realistic.

Cant see him leaving but i would think most things would be on the table as probably the best defender in the AFL. When a team gets beat by 80 + and he gets 8 votes from the coaches it says something.

No cos he's just as likely to retire to spread the word of kingdom hall
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Our lack of talls down back left us exposed again on Saturday night, so no question we'd be interested but the asking price and what we'd be prepared to pay would be too far apart.
Re: Would we be interested if Rance was on offer and ...
He's worth a Million imo
All things being equal (midfield) he doesn't just square his contests... He beats his man and then attacks

Excellent player, but the wrong age bracket for the Saints.
Ideally out best players will be in the 24-28 age bracket when we are serious contenders.
With a bit of luck we'll be contenders in two or three years.
