I'd be happy with this year's first round pick and next year's first round pick for Steele and Marchbank and a single 18-22 pick in either year.
I have not read anywhere anyone saying they would offer a top 8 pick for him?
I am not arguing. Just saying I have not read that anywhere. Can you point to a source?
"The first GIANT to be drafted from the GIANTS Academy in Canberra, Jack Steele is a strong onballer who can also play forward, he has excellent poise and balance and is an effective lead-up player. He won All-Australian honours as NSW/ACT's MVP in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships. Finished equal seventh in the 3-km time trial in 10:11, recorded an equal-sixth best 15.1 in the beep test and scored 26/30 in the kicking test."

Yes, any source on other teams offering a first rounder? You seem to indicate a pick around 10-14?
his value will surely depend on the remainder of the year... if he can get back n the team and play some very good games, I can see a first rounder..
But if he cant break into the side and stay there, then his value slides....
Would offer next year's second and an exchange of this year's third rounders. Wouldn't want to put our first on the table unless it involved GWS' first pick coming back to us or another player like Marchbank or Ahern was involved.. Steele has shown promise but he's not certain to become a gun.

They have performed well this season winning seven of their last nine games to remain a rough chance for a finals spot and are becoming an attractive proposition for emerging talent.
Regardless of what happens with Steele, this sentence in the story is the one that gets me excited
I have heard many pundits declare him a gun in the making and at 187 and 88 , fantastic
With Stevie J maybe not going on, how offering up either Lonie or Sinclair as part of a trade
There have been may threads on our smalls and as much as we love them all, they can't all get a regular game in the future, and right now they have currency

That is the $64 million question.
I reckon he is worth a pick 12-16.
We will have a pick around 10 but no second rounder.
Using the points system - if they send us back a pick in the 40s then it is around even.
IF we did have a second rounder than pick 28 + Longer would be about right.
We may start the draft with pick 10 but that will be pushed back to 14 or 15 as queue jumpers take their academy players.
If he is worth our first round pick we should use it to get him.
But if he isn't worth that pick then don't waste a spot on our list.
We need elite midfielders, not good midfielders.
