ST KILDA forward Paddy McCartin is available for selection this week after recovering fully from his third concussion of the season.
McCartin, 20, was concussed in the first quarter of the round 15 clash against Gold Coast. He passed the concussion test at the time but sat out the rest of the game as the club opted to take a conservative approach with the first player drafted in 2014.
St Kilda football manager Jamie Cox told saints.com.au McCartin had joined in full training.
"Paddy's been symptom-free for the best part of a month," Cox said.
"He's been training strongly during that time and is now back in full contest training.
"His most recent MRI scans were all clear last week. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Re: Injury Update 2016
It will take 16 weeks for the 21-year-old to recover,
Jesus. Maybe you could have given brave Dunny a bit more of a rest hey Richo. We do have other players in the squad you know - you probably don't know their names but they are Eli, Curren, Lonie, Sincs, Murdoch, Shenton. You're killing their belief in themselves by freezing them out.

Re: Injury Update 2016
I reckon chips can get his body right for and 'should' be afforded a farewell game in the final round! Probably in the top 5 players from our best team of the last 15 years, winning 2 b and f's in gun sides says it all. You feel his reputation has been somewhat restored over the last 2 years as well after Caro single handedly tried to character assisinate him!! I will cheer very loudly if he can get out on the park one more time!!

Interesting how they are expected to run 3 times a week during their annual leave period. So it's not complete holidays but I guess it's not too much either.saintbrat wrote:http://m.saints.com.au/news/2016-09-08/what-happens-now

I wonder if their holiday training as such is enough for them to claim a partial tax deduction for some of their holiday expenses? (For those that are away)

I am no accountant, but I would imagine that "holiday expenses" no, but if they pay to use say a gym for training then yes.saintspremiers wrote:Interesting how they are expected to run 3 times a week during their annual leave period. Speaking of holidays, at the B &F rather than start by talking football I asked each player that I met what they were doing in the off-season and when it was travel where were they going, what were they doing etc. I am a travel addict and so for me this was great conversation as travel is a great passion of mine.
There was an interesting range of destinations covering the glabe and some players were travelling in small groups of players and some with their girlfriends. One of the travelling girlfriends as it turns out is studying the same course at uni as one of my daughters.
Needless to say exercise was not a core feature of any of their plans (and nor should it be as this the players only real chance for year to unwind and relax). Though Seb Ross did say that he will finish off with some more active pursuits. I am just back from cycling and hiking in Europe, including at altitude, and he may indulge in a little of that after his earlier Eropean itinerary (though reading between the lines I suspect it will be mainly just focused on having fun).

Wasn't CArlisle able to come back to training some time in Sep? I wonder if he'll come straight back to training or wait until the break is over seeing as he's had some surgery. Hopefully he's kept in some sort of shape.
