Does that mean we would have to trade with the scum again???
Unless he can walk or come as a free agent, I wouldn't trade with bummers.......they will drag it out until 5 mins begore deadline and demand our first pick in the draft.
That's the big question regarding any of the Bummers players who want to walk.
My understanding is that legally Essendon in breach of their contract so any player whose contract has been breached can walk and they don't get any compensation. That's what I've read about it.
If that's true that would seem to be a just outcome.
But whether the AFL will allow that to happen is another matter.

I got shot down from pillar to post when I suggested the saints we're looking at him, whether he comes or not is not the point now, although I hope he does!!!!!
Stonecold, you didn't suggest the Saints were looking at him.
Look at the thread OP. You said he was choosing between us and Richmond. They are two different things.
You presented it as a fact, with a bunch of exclamation marks to emphasise it, not as a rumour.
You seem sometimes to be big noting a bit. Maybe a little humility and not presenting rumours as fact would be more credibly received.
This.
Also it just says "Saints sources said"
That literally could mean they asked a saints supporter.
Nothing to it
Saints sources = Saintsational?
AwayInUSA no longer ... have based myself back in Melbourne for a decade of Saintsational Success (with regular trips back to the USA)
Reckon the Saints learnt from their 'we desperately want Carlisle and will do whatever it takes to get him at the Saints' approach last time which played into Essendon's hands?
I was just thinking that. "I don't think we're chasing him anymore", is up there with "The entire board stands united behind the coach". A good tactic. Treat 'em mean and keep'em keen, especially after the way dudoro behaved last year.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!
Speaking of the way Dildo acted last year I heard on a show (maybe 360) that Essendon were hoping to get Gaff for nothing in the preseason draft if they could get Gaff to stall talks with west coast. Boy I'd love to get Hurley for no draft picks as a DFA

I don't think he actually said that.
Maybe they'll let go for free for disciplinary reasons
No, you'd better listen again, no longer interested, but we'll see!!!!!
Didn't say "no longer interested". Said we are not chasing any more tall backs
No more tall defenders, sure, but we'll want him as a tall forward.
Maybe play Paddy every second week. Give Bruce help as he's struggling.
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.
Remember one of the 10 Commandments : Thou shalt have no other team before thee
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
From what I've been told, it's a bidding war for Hurley.
He'll end up at whichever Club (as long as they're contending) wants to offer him the biggest salary.
EFC are desperately trying to get all the '12' to look at the 'compensation payment' as part of an 'ongoing contract' but Hurley's management (apparently) are splitting the 2.
They are demanding massive payment for the 'compensation' and fielding offers for an ongoing contract, treating the 2 as separate things (much to EFC's chagrin).
I've heard the Hibberd is 95% gone (he apparently received very few injections due to being injured at the time and therefore is being offered hardly anything in 'compensation')
Is also mightily annoyed because EFC can't/won't tell him what he was actually injected with.
