Last 7 games - my take:
Possible wins in final 7 games.
V Melbourne at Etihad - Yes - the hoodoo continues.
V Bulldogs at Etihad - No.
V North at Etihad - no, we haven't beaten them since 2011 - they're losing to good sides but they'll get over us.
V Carlton at MCG - Yep. Probably. Not by as much as I thought we would beat them by at the beginning of the year though.
V Swans at Etihad - nope, hiding. Could get ugly. Over 60 points.
V Richmond at MCG - No - only beaten them there 7 times in 50 years. The record doesn't lie. If we had Carlisle to restrict their Riewoldt it might be different, but we don't.
Brisbane at Etihad - yep - 100 points+.
Which gives us ten wins. Which is what North are on now. Still, if we win 10 games and have a % of over 80 I will be rapt. That is 3 more games than I thought at the beginning of the year. I definitely thought we would finish 5th bottom this year, but if we win tomorrow as we should, we look as though we will be a mid tier side one season earlier than predicted.

Yes, that's true, but after tomorrow three of our next four games are against potential and recent top four finishers - Bulldogs, North and Swans. Then we play Richmond at the MCG, a fixture we have struggled to win since 1966 - but if Deledio is out with the calf injury he sustained today we are in with a slim chance.

That was my mentality after beating geelong going into the Bye. Come back lose to gold coast. Win that game we would be 1 game out of the 8, with out game against the Roo's the game that could've swung us in. Cant say gold coast are on the up. We've matched Roo's when in form. Hawks in Form. beat Geelong. We should have beat gold coast. Then the way we backed it up against the bombers. We got very lucky.


The dream of the 8 i feel is over. if some one sneaks in i dont think it will be us. At this stage we struggle to grab the opportunities when there. I think if in the off season we can narrow the gap between our best and worst, next year will be the year we get the first appearance since our last tilt.

I just checked our flag odds (yes we are still a statistical chance to make the eight) and surprisingly the tigers are 1550/1, whereas we are a much tighter 1000/1 chance according to the bookies!

Nah WellardSaint we will roll those two.......... We will win every match and be on the verge of getting into the finals if we win the last game........... it's a gimmie versus Brisbane. Alas, we know how the Saints love to build us up and drop us from great heights of ecstasy ......... The Lions will bury us in the final game.
Sadly that's my nightmare. Following the Saints for years longer than I can remember I've being so disappointed so often that's sadly in my DNA. Still I live in hope first lets get over the Demons tomorrow - GO SAINTS! Then we can take on the rest and bury the Lions like we did the Bombers in 200? in the last match to see us get into the 8!!!!!!

At a minimum we would have to beat Melbourne, Carlton, Brisbane - and North. Recent form suggests we will drop at least 2 of those games.

I think Richo has been playing a lot of Pokemon this week and hasn't even made it to training. He's got close, but been busy in the streets.

The boys seem to win the games they are expected to win, such as Carlscum and Bombers; they're not pretty, and they just do enough to get over the line.
Suns game was different as they can't play interstate.
But when they think they are better than the opposition, they decide to turn up.
