I was there in the eighties too, BM. Have you forgotten the first three rounds of 1985? Three consecutive 100 + losses. As bad as they were today, and they were very ordinary, we have suffered plenty of devastating losses over the journey that make today look like a premiership by comparison. A win is a win is a win. As Yabby would've said, "we were just glad to get the four points". Sums up my feelings exactly. Move along folks. Next week, here we come. Equal 9th, I believe.

I have been saying this to myself for the past 2 seasons. His hospital handballs just make me sick. He has been a wonderful servant to the club, but I think the game has passed him by.

And if we beat Melbourne we'll probably be outright 9th! The top 8 teams will stay the top 8 teams and just shufle amongst themselves but for us to be in 9th seems a bit outrageous considering how bad some of our performances have been.

The performance was insipid!

Any other AFL team except Brisbane would have beaten Essendon by 15 goals. We we lucky to win, and personally I would have preferred a loss
They deserved it... We deserved to LOSE so the players got what they deserved!!!

Well done Saints! Took my son to his first AFL game and it went down to the wire. Nice for him to experience the emotion of a near loss. Pretty awful game but we loved it!

Any other team in the comp would have beaten us by 10 goals plus. Essendon kick straight we lose, at least in the 80's we had a dip.

Richo needs to read the riot act and make a statement at the selection table.

PEDESTRIAN!!! LAZY!!!! INEPT!!! Diabolical skills. No shepherding. Weak forward defence. A couple of big names need to be dropped lead by Bruce who won't chase, doesn't lead into space and lopes around finger-pointing. Gilbert is a concern every time he gets the ball and so are Montagna and Delaney. Woeful performance. Sadly, we play a stop start boring brand of football. Get some games into young fellas.
