As previously stated, for the sake of Club Development and Player Development, time for Rooey to step aside as Skipper, will even assist he's own game!!!!!

Don't give it to some kid not ready

Saw it with Roo 05, Ball 06, Trengrove and Grimes.. Young skippers who are not freaks often crumble under the pressure.
Giving a title doesn't create growth

If you need the title to lead, you are not a natural leader.

In all honesty
I'm think Weller maybe the best candidate but he's still a developing player ... And giving a developing player a title is a big no no

Jack Newnes has what it takes IMHO as I said on another thread recently, with Jack Steven as his 2IC.

I think Mav Weller is also a promising young leader, but I think the other two are ahead of him in influencing games, because they are both play midfield roles, which rack up possessions.

Jack Newnes is the most level-headed and mature member of that group for mine, but I'm not sure how highly he is regarded internally.

So you're suggesting he'll play next year.
Earlier this season you announced (not sure you used as many explanation marks!!) Roo wouldn't play 10 more games. Now you're giving him 2017 as well.
With that in mind, I'm looking forward to Roo breaking the captains record.
Throwing a lot of darts, haven't had one hit the board yet let alone near a bullseye.

No one clear standing up, whilst Roo is possibly the greatest captain we've ever had. He should retain it. Nothing worse than giving it to the wrong person - i'd like our next captain to be a stand out and easy choice. One of the younger lads has another year to stand up. Also given Roo will become the alltime longest serving captain - why take that honour away from he and the club on a maybe?

Very crucial decision at season end that's for sure.

As you know it's a players vote that will again decide the captaincy UNLESS Roo steps aside.

I don't think he'll step aside and on that basis he will be re-elected.

If he does choose to step aside, I think the players will vote from:

Jack S
Armo
Newnes
Mav

I know the club wants Jack but I think Roo may lean to Newnes or Mav.

StoneCold has used exclamation marks as his mantra since this and all the other saintsational fan forums started, it doesn't make it a scoop or anything else, it's just how StoneCold rolls and always has, for many years longer than a lot on this forum!!!!!
