Re: Saints v Gold Coast match thread
I could have accepted a loss, but our third interstate thrashing in a row to a team that has lost their last ten?
Still a LONG way off from being a finals contender.

Cannot remember Membrey playing a worse game than he has today.. just awful. The difference between his good and bad is far too large

The excuse maker
What was the risk? A 20m sideways kick from the back pocket to an area zoned by GC. It's a fairly straight forward kick for a good kick, but it was a kick with LITTLE reward regardless.
If it wasn't turned over, Armo would still have been held up. And kicked down the line or switched to the other side.
But really, do you want Nick Riewoldt even looking for and taking a kick in the deep back pocket?

A lot of our elite talent haven't even hit the 50 game mark yet. I'd rather do the rebuild right than rush to get to finals.SydneySainter wrote:I could have accepted a loss, but our third interstate thrashing in a row to a team that has lost their last ten?

I don't think anything the coach says to us matters much.evertonfc wrote:Fair call that. We need more than a cliche.Tom_Sainter wrote:It's ok everyone... we will 'respond strongly' next week... Re: Saints v Gold Coast match thread
Then how do you know they are elite? If they haven't played 50 games?
A lot of our elite talent will be retiring within 2 years... I know that
4 players who between them 12 AA selections

Fight you buggers fight. I don't want another 10 goal loss. Why aren't our defensive structures holding up? We need so much more talent in the back half to be able to keep the footy. White and Rice will hopefully be part of that.

We must have broken the world record for the most dropped uncontested chest marks in an AFL game ever. In any league.

Agreed, but so far the rebuild is a 5/10.Bluthy wrote:A lot of our elite talent haven't even hit the 50 game mark yet. And there you are the historical awards again. Go off and live in the past while the rest of us talk about the future.BigMart wrote:Then how do you know they are elite? If they haven't played 50 games?

Making out that a comfortable win over Essendon is a "strong response" is not acceptable.Johnny Member wrote:I don't think anything the coach says to us matters much.evertonfc wrote:Fair call that. It's what we do over the next five or six rounds that determines the "strength" of the response.
Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.
Re: Saints v Gold Coast match thread
Yay a goal. Really really flat today. Maybe it was expected but still disappointing. We are either all up or all down. Need others to step up and get the ball rolling instead of the usuals.
Re: Saints v Gold Coast match thread
Look at the bright side - this is our last interstate game. The rest of the games are mostly at the Etihad.

Re: Saints v Gold Coast match thread
It's what we do interstate that determines our response... Honestly a piss weak performance like this undoes any good work from last week. One step forwards and another two back... When I look back on this season it won't be the wins at Etihad I'll remember, it is these gutless, pathetic and putrid interstate games.evertonfc wrote:Making out that a comfortable win over Essendon is a "strong response" is not acceptable.Johnny Member wrote:I don't think anything the coach says to us matters much.evertonfc wrote:Fair call that. We have lost our last 8 interstate games by an average of 57 points... staggering

You are all getting ahead of yourselves in presuming a win over Essendon!

I'm not watching, only radio, but 40 tackles half way through the last quarter! 40 tackles!
Where is our ticker?
Where is our leadership?
It's disrespectful. Of the club, the jumper, the fans.

Tha arrogant little sods have been drinking their own bathwater again. Not only do they have their heads stuck up their own backsides, the think the view is spectacular. Weak. Gutless.
Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.
Re: Saints v Gold Coast match thread
Look you have to say a huge game like last week would have taken a s*** load out of them. Its very hard for young teams to travel and backup those sort of games, physically and emotionally.

Living for the future are you?
If you don't think the past and the present doesn't shape the future, I'm not sure why I'm responding to you
I suggest you live in the present and not hope for a future that may or may not ever arrive
And
If you don't think the impending retirements of 4 club legends is going to leave a hole in the team that must be filled ... And that's not going to be problematic ... You are delusional regardless
