Was probably over played. Should have rotated him out a bit - give him a week off. Let Goddard or Lee play. That would have been smart use of older players and give experience to our young backs.

Looks like it will be a huge test for our inexperienced backline with Dangerwood pumping it into the 50 a lot. If Lee doesn't come up then is Coughlan capable of being promoted from the rookie list - have we placed Goddard on the LTI list? You can replace them with a rookie can't you? Gilbo might have to play back a fair bit to provide cover. Likewise Webster. But that then takes away our attack the other way which you need to get them to back off. Gunna be an acid test.

player reviews-
most likely to replace Webster and Wright?
Eli Templeton – 36 possessions (13 contested), 7 inside 50s, 6 clearances and 6 tackles

“Eli was good again. He spread well and his ball use was excellent. It was his best performance of the year so he’s put his best foot forward to get another opportunity at AFL level.”

Brodie Murdoch – 29 possessions, 24 kicks, 9 marks, 8 inside 50s and 3 rebound 50s

“A really good performance in all aspects of his game. He used the ball very well and was good in the contest. He came forward well to impact and was good at covering the outlets. He put his hand up for another senior chance.”

>>>>>>>

Jack Sinclair – 19 possessions (12 contested), 9 clearances and 5 tackles

“The Northern Blues really went after Jack but he fought through the attention well. His stats don’t look amazing, but he made a really solid contribution and his hands in tight were really good.”

Cam Shenton – 17 possessions, 7 tackles and 3 goals

“Cameron had a solid balanced game. He worked really hard offensively to provide options high up the ground, he reset with purpose to either create scoring opportunities or to give him a chance to defend strongly. Another strong performance. He continues to push for another senior opportunity.”

>>>>>>>>>>>
Daniel McKenzie – 14 possessions (9 contested), 4 marks and 2 inside 50s

“Dan struggled to get into the game against the Blues, but he always gives a great contest when the ball is in his area and his compliance with our structure was a positive.”

Brandon White – 14 possessions, 5 inside 50s and 4 marks

“Brandon responded after a slow first half which was a positive. He was a bit lazy with his disposal at times, but was always looking for the handball receive which is what we want because he is so damaging by foot. Consistency is a focus for him now.”

Shame Webster and Wright will both miss, especially feel for Wright as you feel his opportunities and chances to keep his place on the list wont last forever.

Perhaps Eli and Lonie to come in? both in good form and earned first dibs on an oporunity if presented. Or Lee if they want to go taller in defence and sacrifice run.

McKenzie- Murdoch or Shenton for run and bigger body than Lonie or Templeton.

Sorry for my ignorance but did I miss something, when did Freeman become indefinite???

Last week I'm sure he was only 2-3wks.

Or is that because they want elevate Coughlan or NOK this week???

Can't they already do that as no one was upgraded for Goddard?

Richo made a comment that he was two or so weeks away which surprised me as I thought they may sit him out of games the rest of the year. But it makes sense to say indefinite as most probably the club just doesn't know when they are confident he will next play a game . Gee if he doesn't play any more footy this year I get a little worried. Three years with no games is not good for his learning.

welcome back Billy
The 23-year-old was sidelined for a month at the start of June, having struggled to overcome the side effects of a head knock almost four weeks earlier.

Longer passed concussion tests following the knock and was able to play the following week, but had trouble later on with headaches and memory loss.
He was ruled out of contact drills and games in order to recover, but Saints football manager Jamie Cox said on Monday that he was ready to resume playing.
"He's feeling good and he's going well. He's considered likely for this week," Cox said.
"There may still be one small hurdle or one small test left for him to jump, but he's up on our board as likely. He's on schedule for this week."

Paddy out again. Awaiting further tests. WTF does that really mean? Is there a diabetes and concussion issue? It's not like he got much of a hit last time. The club is being very vague about what's going on. Hope it's not serious but it can't be minor to use words like that after this much time
