St Kilda's hardline stance on the Jake Carlisle trade earns another tick. Jade Gresham, drafted with the pick it got back, the Rising Star.

THE IMMEDIATE lead-up to his final-quarter clutch goal against Geelong on Saturday night was a blur for Jade Gresham, but the young Saint is working towards producing those highlight-worthy pieces of play more often.
Gresham played a vital role in the Saints' famous three-point win over the ladder-leading Cats, clinching the round 14 nomination for the NAB AFL Rising Star award.
The 18-year-old collected 16 disposals to go along with eight inside 50s. Not to mention the astonishing goal where he turned veteran Cat Tom Lonergan inside out, and then finished from tight in the pocket to cut the deficit to three points with just six minutes left in the game.
Gresham was nominated for the Coates Hire Goal of the Year award for his efforts.

Good list management to secure Carlisle and Gresham for pick 5!
Pick 5 and our second rounder...but still excellent work if Carlisle comes good!
History still being re-written hysterically?
Not happy that we have Gresham PLUS Carlisle PLUS Freeman from our drafting? There have been so many bleeding hearts over "giving up pick 5 for Carlisle" without telling the full story.
Well done Jade. Look forward to Nathan Freeman winning a nomination next year (will probably be too old, though) and watching Jake fitting into our improving backline.

We gave up 5 (which became 6) plus 24 in return for Carlisle & 14 (Gresham)
The Freeman pick is still to come from the next draft and has absolutely nothing to do with the Carlisle trade.

Freeman was for next year's second rounder.
Jade and Carlisle were pick 5 & 24. I am not rewriting any history
Gresh has got a small videos worth of career highlights already, hope someone compiles one some time soon. Seen the goal about 20times, haven't seen the dangerfeild brush off since the game .
I've seen Gresh referred to in various articles as a small forward. I think he might be a bit better than a goal sneak. Looks like a starting mid to me ... quick, nimble, reads the play well and very strong through the hips. Endurance doesn't seem to be a problem. I saw him come streaming through a centre bounce ball in hand in the last quarter Saturday looking like Jack Steven on steroids.
Armo and Dunstan would want to be on their games or they will end up the small forwards
Darren Berry on SEN just referred to him as Jade "The Ghost" Gresham. "One second he was there and then he's gone" referring to Tom Lonegans missed tackle. I like it.

What a gun this kid is
Apparantly he is very close to Brent Harvey. His dad and Brent played under 18's together. Amazing that Brent Harvey is still playing, but apparantly he gave him a heap of advice last year. He is also part Aborigine and very very proud of his heritage.
this was according to his coach from under 18's who was interviewed on SEN today. He was not at all surprised that he was nominated

I hope not as Dunstan can't kick a goal to save himself!
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
