Nathan Wright

Post: # 1621865Post loris »

What a courageous game from the lad. Before he went off to have his shoulder attended to, he was very sore and couldn't lift his arm, yet he kept going in and under, locking the ball in, even tho it was obvious he was in extreme pain. His second & third efforts were admirable.
Even when he came back on he was hampered by the shoulder - but did that stop his kamakazi approach to the ball? Definitely not. Great effort Nathan. And his kicking wasn't terrible as many say. Good pressure forward player, along the mould of Mav.

Apart from one turnover that nearly cost us a goal, I thought he did quite well.

Kudos to Richo for sticking him in the forward line in the first place.

May have found us a handy goal sneak.

Low stats but I liked his game. Attack on the man and the ball. And always looks threatening with his break away speed.
Not sure where he fits in but you cant knock his efforts.

He'd be excelled at that.

Problem he has is his sheer madness with the way he attacks the ball will land him either in hospital or his body will get smashed to pieces before too long at the top level. The human body can't handle that sort of approach. But good on him for doing what he does best and making the most of his ability. Can't deny that!

Good call. Could be the first AFL player to 'code-hop' over to UFC.

He is a young Gilbo.

Not as tall and doesnt have Gilbo's trade mark side step. But Nate does have a good leap so he does pretty well in the air. Similar pace. Nate might be a yard quicker. Similar hard tackler. Nate a bit more kamikaze.

Spot on Loris.
I was in the rooms after the game and you will soon hear the news about Wrighty!
He's as tough as a cats head and what he had to play through in the second half was incredible.

Absolutely. Just watching the 2nd Quarter again at home. After the contest where he injured his shoulder, he continued to contest for the next 4-5 minutes despite clearly being hampered. Amazing courage.

I noticed when he came back on his arm was still hanging by his side as he ran, looked like he couldn't lift it at all, but did that stop him throwing himself into the packs - such courage. I hope the lad hasn't found another way to give himself a serious injury.

Fantastic effort.
One disastrous clanger that should have led to a goal apart from Motlop arrogance.

Why be so cryptic? If you have some news on one of our players, how about letting us all know?

Apart from that turnover his field kicking was excellent last night, as was his vision and run.

It's amazing what can happen when you give these young guys a crack. We've had so much more run out of our back half the last 2 weeks with a better balance of youth and experience. Hope they keep it going.

I loved Wright's game last night but his challenge is to back this up (when he's back from injury) when the team is not all playing well like last night. He's had these sort of games before where he looks like a match winner but has been really erratic.

He really is one of the maddest blokes I have ever seen play. No regard for his own safety.
