Foxtel / Umpires
For possibly the first time this year we have won the free kick count - by 1 free kick mind you !!! And all they can talk about post game was the free kicks and woe poor Geelong - if asked I hope the club (Richo or anyone else) comes out very strongly and actually uses this as platform for raising the issue of the free kick deficit we face virtually every week

Re: Foxtel / Umpires
hop on the afl website and watch the last 2 minutes. We missed about 3. apparantly tackling and spinning your opponent twice is still not holding the ball.
They werent going to pay anything, and thats just as it should be. They were like that in 1st quarter then decided to get involved in 2nd 3rd and half of 4th

Re: Foxtel / Umpires
Couldn't buy a free kick in our forward 50. Thought the umps missed at least three.
Geelong definitely got the better of those in their forward 50.

We did, but crikey Geelongs defenders get away with some shockers. What Josh Bruce cops every week is ridiuclous. He needs to start making to frees more obvious and complaining like Hawkins does, he might get a better deal then?

The umps kept them in the game.bigballs wrote:Couldn't buy a free kick in our forward 50. Thought the umps missed at least three.

We got a couple of perplexing ones but in places where it didn't matter.
Their dodgy ones counted.

Since when does getting your nose busted up in a marking contest not draw a free kick. I look forward to the day our forwards get awarded what they are due.

I've only seen the highlights on watchafl.com but we were shafted by umpires. First cats goal, no high hit on Paddy.

Yeah the Henderson one was a disgrace that it wasn't paid for HTB. But were we lucky Hawkins didn't get a free for interference?mullet wrote:hop on the afl website and watch the last 2 minutes. We missed about 3. apparantly tackling and spinning your opponent twice is still not holding the ball.

I don't think it was intentional contact. He will get a fine otherwise a suspension means the whole of Geelong's feral cat fans will make too much noise for the AFL to handlekosifantutti wrote:I've only seen the highlights on watchafl.com but we were shafted by umpires. These days he will out in less than 30 years.
He should sent to Canberra as Treasurer and not released until the budget is in surplus.
The Greens and Independents will ensure he is never released.

Re: Foxtel / Umpires
I noted a lot of whinging about the umps on this and a certain other forum. I thought the umps were pretty good last night. Sure, they missed some frees for both us and Geelong, but this always happens. But they put their whistles away for long periods and let the game flow, which really helped us.
