Re: Hurley!!!!!
Hurley has about as much chance as signing with the Saints as Heppell.
Another stonecold ice block.
(Having said that I like the way stonecold goes about it. Entertainment value is good.)

Re: Hurley!!!!!
My sources tell me that O'Meara is shot. Would be a waste of time. It's doubtful he'll come back to AFL footy in any meaningful waylongtimesaint wrote:Are the Saints talking to him?
With Carlisle he would shore up our two key defensive positions very nicely.
We won't have Goddard for much of next year and if he is good enough could play another role.
It would leave only an elite midfielder to really set up our team. -Prestia or O'meara?

Re: Hurley!!!!!
Given O'M would've been worth a first rounder if his body was right we will now trade him for a third round pick and there will be high fives all round. And then he'll never play for us!Moods wrote:My sources tell me that O'Meara is shot. Would be a waste of time. Again, itk from BF, who is very reliable.
I can do the whole story but don't feel like it as I'd rather concentrate on the more likely targets in mind.

I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

Re: Hurley!!!!!
Its more than contact, weve spoken to him twice, the club has the feeling that he will remain at the bombers, So basically he's just shopping to see what he's worth. On top of that we wont trade a pick for him and he would be required to be a DFA. Which players don't do these days.stonecold wrote:Ok, then, it's more than 2% chance though, contact only counts as 2% these days?????Playon wrote:Again, itk from BF, who is very reliable.

Not my info but from the itk, and he rates our chances at 2%. MG would be the most reliable source at BF, however jaxons from here is more reliable, wish he'd post more

Re: Hurley!!!!!
My gut feel is if he leaves it will be too Hawthorn or Collingwood after they off load Cloke. If he does go to the Pies it might push Nathan Brown out, who would be worth a look...

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Thats a little unfair, jaxons has been more than reliable and spot on most of the time.I could dig up some of his posts, but then you've read them anyway.saynta wrote: To my mind tony74 is the only one really itk and he hasn't said anything, has he?
MG and starno#4 have also been pretty good.
Not even the club has been 100% accurate

Re: Hurley!!!!!
Why?"
Under AFL laws, players can meet with rival clubs whenever they want, and clubs can even offer terms, should the player indicate he wants to leave his current club. But a player cannot sign legally binding "contracts, agreements, arrangements or understandings".

Re: Hurley!!!!!
Because the club and Hurley wouldn't want the pressure of the story being out. Melbourne have had to hose things down and downplay the situation after the comments were made. Many in principal signings would happen mid year and be denied by all. Just like Dangerfield. I'm sure if Hurley had agreed to come to the Saints or any other club he would want that to remain secret even if just for Essendons sake. If Hurley walked now their fans would be devistated.
