Really pleasing to see Lonie playing so well. Seen White have one kick, but what a kick it was. Billings good. McKenzie hard as a cats head.

You are 100% correct.
Has trouble with the old skin folds.
It's something that has been brought up in the leading team's sort of meetings, still has trouble with it. Maybe it's just youth, or maybe he just prefers the Maccas drive thru over a career as an AFL footballer
Re: VFL Rd 10 Sandringham vs Essendon
Lonie looks set for a return next game if he keeps going the way he is.
Billings and Sinclair need to get involved a bit more.
Not looking good for Saunders or Curren at years end - would't be surprised if both delisted!

Re: VFL Rd 10 Sandringham vs Essendon
Interesting player Lonie...
The commentators summed it up really well when he kicked his 5th.
13 disposals, 5 goals. You simply cannot afford to give him an inch. He will hurt you every time. And at VFL level he does. I know this season in the seniors his disposal has been very hit and miss but I think I attribute that more to fatigue and fitness with emphasis on the gap in running btw the 2 leagues.
The challenge for Lonie is actually getting his hands on the ball. Because he's smaller and needs his speed he can't really bulk up much.
So how does a Jack Lonie get involved in play when the opposition has the run? How does he overcome that?

Sinclair, Eli and Billings high 20's. Lonie 5 goals. Good win with a decimated team. Commentators were very impressed with the ball movement.

Last thing Lonie needs is bulk... What would he do with it but slow down?..
Lonie needs speed and agility ... Weight won't help, he is slower this year than last
All of those 178-183 small players we have are too heavy or added too much...
Eli ran a 15.8 beep test and had elite running power... Now he struggles to cover the ground
Sinclair, Dunstan, Mich, Curran, Acres, Saunders, Billings, Lonie, Murdoch
Jack Steven is the one Saint who has not got slower since arriving
The emphasis on size baffles me... Unless you use it in your game

Game review
http://sandringhamfc.com.au/footy-match ... spx?id=527
Sandringham has recorded its third consecutive victory, defeating Essendon by 28-points at Trevor Barker Beach Oval on Sunday.
Despite the margin the contest was much closer throughout the entire game. Accuracy in front of goal hurt Essendon, but credit goes to the fierce pressure applied by Sandringham in the defensive end.
Forward entries were 15 for each team in the first quarter, but it was Sandringham who were much more accurate in front of goal.
Jack Sinclair read the ball very well coming in long to a contested situation and found space to convert a snap at goal to kick start the Zebras for the day.
Each time Sandringham went forward it was dangerous with the amount of space the forwards were given. Jack Lonie got on the end of a long entry into an open forward line and kick sweetly under pressure on the run to give Sandringham valuable scores early.
Essendon’s first came at the nine minute mark after a considerable amount of time in their forward half.
The beauty of a coast-to-coast goal was on show for Sandringham, with Corey Rich converting thanks to magnificent ball movement.
A boundary throw in from the Zebras forward pocket resulted in Lonie again demonstrating how dangerous he can be 30 metres from goal.
http://www.saints.com.au/news/2016-06-1 ... mp-bombersThe St Kilda contingent led the way for the Zebras, supporting former Saint and Sandringham skipper Trent Dennis-Lane (8 disposals, 2 goals) to victory.
Goal sneak Jack Lonie produced a five-goal haul to be named among the best, while the likes of Eli Templeton (28 disposals), Josh Saunders (25 disposals) and Jack Billings (28 disposals) all amassed 20-plus disposals through the midfield.
Nick Coughlan played taller than is height suggests as a key defender, stepping up in the absence of AFL selectees Tom Lee and Luke Delaney, in arguably the best game he’s produced for Sandringham.
Jack Sinclair was another clear standout for the Zebras, showing his class with 23 disposals, 11 tackles and two goals to his name to again push his case for another AFL recall in Alan Richardson’s team.
With their third and final bye to come this weekend at the halfway mark of the VFL season, the Zebras are well placed at 6-2 and third on the VFL ladder.
