No, clearly not his mistake alone even though he seems to like the smaller draft picks.PremiershipSaint wrote:SACK RICHO
Unfortunately we are not much better than VFL when we get beaten in the basics of contested possession and even when we win th clearances we turn it over and kicking well, its a habit now that cant be turned around when under pressure with little ball player protection.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

By who K? Blind Freddy could see they only played 40 minutes of footy. If people think we played well in the last 2 weeks they are deluded. We have played horrible footy for the past month. Really poor footy.SainterK wrote:Got scolded for highlighting they only played one quarter last weekbigred wrote:Midfield should be ashamed of themselves.
Pathetic. No excuse for the lack of pressure. Any cabbage can run.

Wow this seems systemic when going interstate now. Sydney yet to come. That 90 points last year, then Eagles, Eagles again this year, Adelaide now. Lucky we played Port round one or that could be the same as that game last year too.The Fireman wrote:can they get on the plane now? please ? this is going to be soul destroying.
We miss a tall stronger player like Carlisle and the druggies mistake has killed us.

Great effort from Paddy there to get the ball out and good grab by Bruce.

Gilbert's last 4 weeks playing as an unaccountable midfielder at 29 years of age.
Rd 8 - 6 disposals
Rd 9 - 7 disposals ( v 17th)
Rd 10 - 16 disposals (v 18th)
Rd 11 - 3 disposals at half time.
He's versatile though! And tall. Also blonde. Don't forget his versatility either.

Re: Match day thread - Saints v Crows
meh. result was a foregone conclusion. dogs, giants, eagles, crows - pattern there - which means we should look great winning next week! guys just don't step up in challenging games interstate, with the strange exception of hawthorn. perhaps after that game they wondered why they bothered?
not too fussed as we are a bottom six side and blowouts happen. team isn't good enough or mature enough to perform consistently. minds probably more focused on the winnable game next week. hopefully they put in a bit of fight in the second.

Re: Match day thread - Saints v Crows
Seems that Crows have a shot at goal with every forward entry so there has been no rebound from defensive 50 - in previous weeks our defense has been able to rebound the ball but today they are getting smashed - such a worry that we cant replace Fisher - god forbid when we lose him and Dempster
We may need more mids but we need to consolidate our defense and I dont think just Carlisle is the answer - we need another back who can take these monster forwards

I was hoping I'd see the end of these massacres this year, sadly I was wrong.
I don't mind losing, but just rolling over is unacceptable.
I reckon a few are lucky to still be in the side, Billings has done nothing this year, Bruce has not produced the form from last year and as someone said we keep recruiting small players.

We have the worst midfield in the comp, some of the blame has to go on Richo's coaching.kalsaint wrote:No, clearly not his mistake alone even though he seems to like the smaller draft picks.PremiershipSaint wrote:SACK RICHO

Sounds like a knee for Goddard now. We have no talls left. Draft selections?
Why wanst Lee selected and played? Bigger body. Webster probably needed another week to be fair.

Dropped. He's another turnover merchant. We were always a chance when he played.Con Gorozidis wrote:Where is Scotty Thompson? Anyone know?

Same old story. Dunstan, Ross and Armo are just too similar.PremiershipSaint wrote:We have the worst midfield in the comp, some of the blame has to go on Richo's coaching.kalsaint wrote:No, clearly not his mistake alone even though he seems to like the smaller draft picks.PremiershipSaint wrote:SACK RICHO
