Richo's private word to the Geary baggers

Re: Richo's private word to the Geary baggers
I'll go as far as to say that Geary is an outstanding small defender, one of the best in the AFL.
Rarely beaten, often when the midfield is...
He does flip it though... You cannot be perfect ... Or he'd take up more cap space
I don't want a small back worth more than 350

Apart from the obvious turnovers on the weekend he did play very well. He has always struggled on Betts lets hope he can turn the tide this time round?

Geary's detractors are the ones who know least about the caper and it's painfully obvious.

With Geary like any player it all gets down to a simple question.
Do you want him in our 22 next week?
IMO the answer is a clear yes.

Give it a break, you are backing the wrong horse
"all goes well" for the team
Augers well, you mean.
Simple Definition of auger
: a sharp tool that is used chiefly for making holes
Sort of describes the Geary-haters on here too.
augur well for
Also, augur ill for ; bode well or ill for. Have good (or bad) expectations for someone or something. For example, John's recovery from surgery augurs well for the team and The Republican victory in the Congressional elections bodes ill for affirmative action. The verb augur is derived from the Latin word for “soothsayer” (predictor of the future), a meaning perpetuated in this phrase and so used since the late 1700s. The verb bode comes from the Old English bodian, meaning “to announce or foretell,” and is rarely heard today except in this idiom, which dates from about 1700.

Re: Richo's private word to the Geary baggers
Geary would get a game in just about every side in the competition. His disposal looks worse than it is because of the immense pressure he is usually under when he turns it over and because of the lack of options he has to kick to. It is not just the precise kicking that makes hawthorn look good, it is the work other players do when they don't have the ball to create options for defenders coming out of the backline.
Have a look what was available to geary when he turned the ball over on the weekend it was because the only option to him was a bad option. He looked up the line and there were only freo players, he can't go for the boundary anymore and to his side and behind him were stationary players with freo players near them. By this time he was under a heap of pressure, he took what he thought was the best option and a turnover resulted. That turnover is the whole teams fault, not just geary's. Richo seems to understand this, some of our supporters don't.

He made three howlers in the first half...two of which resulted in goals to Freo. The third one was rectified by a strong and courageous mark about 15m out from Freo's goal.
Geary's second half was outstanding. Ballantyne was nowhere when Freo were playing their best footy.
His disposals hit the mark and, more often than not, benefited the team.
Hope his form continues with Betts and that he can eliminate the inboard passes to contests.
