So, I'll reiterate, why is there a package if he's breaking his contract?

As an aside, I personally wouldn't swap Hugh for Hurley. He has become more overrated the longer he's been suspended.
There's plenty of one time all Australian's that have fizzled away their careers.
Surely our money is better spent elsewhere (in the midfield!!!).

As an aside, I personally wouldn't swap Hugh for Hurley. He has become more overrated the longer he's been suspended.

Yes posing a question. WTF are Essendon getting away with? They cheat and lie, their players get suspended, they have broken all of the suspended players contracts, yet other clubs have to negotiate with them, they can choose to do a deal or not and they expect to receive compensation as they normally would for any players that choose
to leave? How can it be so?

Not sure who you're talking to here Stonecold.
My question was regarding Essenbum receiving market value compo for anyone who chooses to leave because the injecting scandal. To me there would be no clearer picture of how rigged the competition is if the AFL promotes the Bummers getting first round compo picks in exchange for FA defections or there being an expectation that other clubs have to give up players or picks to market value to snaffle one of the players whose contracts have been broken.
