How many young saints will miss playing a game of any kind this weekend? Didn't the Zebs play the Tiges under lights 2 weeks ago?

I wondered that too- But it is the Werribee tigers-
difficulty with teams with similiar nick names and or colours- ie Coburg and Essendon, or even Box Hill and Sandy

I think- and it's only think- saints will play it will be Zebras who have to go back to local teams.
I note only 1 Tom Cameron this week although Both Tom Cameron's kicked goals last week.

Not sure if I am blind. If Freeman isn't on the injury list where is he listed?

Cox revealed young midfielder Nathan Freeman will enter a conditioning phase for the next fortnight after making a successful comeback with Sandringham’s development team on the weekend, before returning after the bye.

“Nathan Freeman got through the development game at Sandringham really well,” Cox said.

“As part of his plan, Sandringham have a bye next week, so part of his plan is to give him a couple of weeks of conditioning, before he then re-emerges back with the development team in a couple of weeks.”

This is why we need our own VFL team ASAP. Geelong & now the Bulldogs, benefit enormously from having their own team.

Wasn't that Richmond rather than Werribee tigers (North Melbourne alliance)?

Rubbish! The only Saints to miss a game this week are the AFL emergencies, and that will probably be only Holmes.

Players on the cusp of senior selection missing games and having numerous byes is not good for Sandy, the Saints or the player. The VFL draw is a complete farce. Sandy have 3 byes in the first 11 rounds. It's ludicrous.

How do you put your hand up for selection when you haven't played any competitive footy for 14-21 days?

How many weekends during the season do our emergency or emergencies get to play a game of footy? Hard when we play so many bloody Sunday games and there are so many VFL byes. No good for us or Sandy. Last weekend a perfect example. Saints losers, Zebs losers and 3 kids losers.

Kids want to play footy, not sit on their arses and watch when they are perfectly fine to play. To cap it off for the poor buggers, they then get flogged on the track because they haven't played a game. It's comical.

Beg yours. Are you drunk? Did I say Sandy had a bye this week? By the way there is a bye every week in the VFL. Richmond has it this week. Sandy have 3 in the first 11 rounds as I stated.

I don't quite understand your reply or your confusion. Maybe read the post again.

Well said bro!

It's a pity the media hacks are often too dumb to raise this very big issue that's been going on for years

Have an even number of VFL teams and one bye per season and a season that runs the same length as the AFL.

Problem solved!

Can you pls raise this Parko on one of your radio gigs??

The VFL don't exist to service the AFL

They are seperate competitions

Their first thought is not... What is best for the AFL clubs
In fact quite the contrary
They ARE not the AFL reserves

Having a stand alone club is a poor idea

Costly, not required and has many issues...

Seconds sides without the top up of experience lack leadership and experience to be competitive

Rubbish. They are the AFL reserves. Hardly any teams are stand alone or not controlled by an AFL club

Just some of the oldest and most influential clubs in Victoria

Port Melbourne
Coburg
Williamstown
North Ballarat
Frankston

Are not even aligned

Those clubs despise the AFL

The VFL executive are very pro-VFL

Many aligned clubs are not happy with the alignments .... And it's why they leave alignment clubs

It's a seperate comp... The AFL clubs just use/need it as a place for development... They don't care that much about the performance of their aligned teams.

Box Hill is the only example of a successfully aligned club
And Sandringham when they were aligned with the demons

Box hill is less of an alignment and more of a 'controlled by the Hawks' setup.
