Was excellent when moved onto the rampaging Kennedy.
Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
Re: Is Dempster becoming a liability?
Zero attack as usual which let WC do a full press on us. Demps does what demps which is solid defence but no attack. Its not the future. A week off while we try Lee or Goddard wouldn;t hurt.

What a wonderful contribution to debate on the board. You're really adding the thought provoking discussion from passionate saints supporters. Keep up the really positive contribution. You want to big up Demps, go for it. He has stacks of positive attributes and did a good job on Kennedy. But doesn't mean he's a Saint (well he is but you know what I mean) He can, and will be cricitised after a 100 pt thumping (as all players do). Grow up.ssaintss wrote:bluthy you are kidding your self, why dont you do everyone a favour and keep your opinion to yourself

Re: Is Dempster becoming a liability?
Another win for Dempster.
He's not the future, but neither is Riewoldt and Montagna. Thank God for all three of them.
They set a remarkable example.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

He was rediculously good today.

Re: Is Dempster becoming a liability?
Dempster is a gun but he needs someone seriously pacey around him so he can win it in the air (which he always does) and then handball off to a speedy Gonzalez. We dont have that player to complement him.
Re: Is Dempster becoming a liability?
He was our 3rd best today
Only 5 players would get a pass mark IMO

Currently a reverse liability
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

We need to chase Hurley from Essendon and get 2 more midfielders.

Re: Is Dempster becoming a liability?
Dempster not only shut out Kennedy when he went into him (after the Kennedy horse had bolted) - but he had to often make the decision to leave Kennedy unattended to assist Gilbo (especially) & Webster, because of their poor defensive moves, leaving their players unattended, and they got away from them - Dempster had the ability to spoil or halt their opponents, then got back to close play on Kennedy. For such a slow (definitely not my opinion) defender , the Dempster has the rather quick ability to cover many metres, switching between his opponent and covering up the errors of his team mates.
I was at the match last week against North, and was able to watch the excellent covering work Dempster does for his team mates, then noticed it again yesterday. Watching matches on telly sure doesn't show how much his defensive team mates rely on the Dempster. He covers a lot of cracks in our defence. It would have been a bigger blowout yesterday without Dempster.
I'm sure the Saints will need to extend his contract next season, not so sure about Fisher (I think he's reached the end) or Gilbert.
Has there been any report that Dempster has tweaked his hammy? He went off before the end of play, after a mark, clutched at his left hamstring area, took his kick, signalled to the trainer & went off immediately. Kept feeling his left leg, high into the buttock area as he went off the oval.
