Positives
I'm struggling to think of one.
Out: Any couple of a number of ineffectual smalls/mids.
In: Fisher, Paddy.
Next week we'd better turn up. Put the entire midfield on notice

Yes. There are no positives in a 100 point loss though we may learn something about ourselvesmillarsaint wrote:this thread is a joke right?

Re: Positives
Dempster when moved onto the red hot Kennedy was excellent.
Gresham was looking good at getuing the ball (but then blew it!).
Ross I thought was good with bugga all support.

Re: Positives
Reality check.
We need to add a lot of skill and speed.
ES not a good rehearsal stage for big grounds.
We won't have the arrogance to select that backline against a tall offence again.

Re: Positives
What remains is that we are a side reliant on our experience in Riewoldt, Montagna, Fisher, Dempster and Gilbert.
Past that we are reliant on improvement from the likes of Armitage, Steven, Newnes and Ross.
Then we are reliant on those we have drafted with higher Draft Picks in the last couple of years years being Billings, Dunstan, Acres, McCartin, Goddard and Gresham along with those recruited from other Clubs by our initiative being Hickey, Bruce, Freeman and Carlisle.
So that is 19 players who represent our future - in as much as the veterans continue to be available and still perform.
They are the players we must invest opportunity in whilst turning the remainder of vour List to arrive at 30 players whose performance can impact on the result of matches consistently.
No doubt the Draw given us by the AFL has impacted having already player last year's Grand Finalists both at their interstate home venues - and playing another finalist from last year in a bruising encounter a week ago.
Who else has played Hawthorn in Tasmania and WCE in Perth in the first 8 weeks of this season?
The AFL has their preferred outcomes, and St Kilda just do not seem to rank.

Gresh showed glimpses of brilliance in traffic at times. That was my only +ve from the day.
And Roo must have sore shoulders from carrying us all these years.

Re: Positives
I agree he had a spell for about 10 mins where he was using it brilliantly - then it went to s*** for him but wasn't on a desert island there. MOre games and compusure and he will be a good user for us and has great maneuverabilityCon Gorozidis wrote:Gresh showed glimpses of brilliance in traffic at times. That was my only +ve from the day.

Re: Positives
Of course hard to find positives but a real learning. I agree that having such a small Defence structure will be risked out. I think this will give opportunities for Murdoch and Templeton to come in as better ball users. Lonie will have to go back to Sandy and get some form. Gives us an opportunity to play some of the kids. Reminds certain players to pull their heads in about playing finals this year. Getting way to ahead of themselves IMO.
Looks like our first round draft pick will be a good one this year.

Eagles are supposed to be more than flat track bullies, their fans should legit feel negative after that win, not us
Re: Positives
Pick 5 at the draft (will probably become pick 12 after all the bulls*** academy picks). We might be able to get a mid who can regularly hit a target with the footy. Would be a nice change.

Re: Positives
absolutely none
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
