Re: Match Thread Saints v Eagles @ Subi
This is our third game where we just have not turned up intent on playing well.
We are being completely outrun and outplayed by WC.
Very hard to find a good player for us. Even Roo who who has done many things well has then just wasted it with 4 very poor forward line kicks.

Midfield slaughtered and defense slaughtered. Giving up so much space yet we have no time to make good use.

Obviously not happy with the way we're going, but at least the beer is going down well!

Poor decisions @ the selection table, Richo did this last year!!!
At least give us a chance by picking like for like, we've got blokes trying to play on gorillas 20kg heavier and 5cm taller!!
Absolutely ridiculous decision.
But, by the same token our on ballers have been smashed, Steven and Armitage in particular.
Man up and put your head over the f****** ball.

I think Mullet is right. We look flat and it is not surprising. We have to learn to bounce back better, but we do have a lot of kids and it takes time.
I reckon Gresham has shown a bit of grunt and flair. That's something.

Someone on here said we need to take the umpires out of it. So who's up for shooting them?
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Yes Gilbert and Geary both easily having their worst games for the year. They both cannot get near their opponents.Griggsy wrote: defense slaughtered. Giving up so much space yet we have no time to make good use.
Though Dempster has done well when moved on to the red hot Kennedy.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Eagles @ Subi
Pressure got a little better.
We're tackling like we mean it.
Still second to the ball and outnumbered at the contest.
But I have never seen a side look less likely to score. Never. A few as bad as but none worse.
And on the rare occasion that we have the pill, we've butchered it.
They ought to be embarrassed, coaches included.
They must show some ticker now and fight to save some face. They've shamed the guernsey so far. Pick it up, Saints!

But you know what - this is where Newnes, Weller, Ross, Dunstan, Billings need to step up. Armo, Steven and mOnty are being shutdown so the others need to start taking responsibility and do something about it and not just go along for the ride when they are playing well. We are either all up when our senior play makers are doing well or all down when they are not.saintbob wrote:Poor decisions @ the selection table, Richo did this last year!!!

Well, we'll see how serious West Coast are about honouring their verbal contract to clear anyone to us who wants to play for us, to compensate for us gifting Cripps to them. We even threw in Hutchings as steak knives.CQ SAINT wrote:Gaff is auditiioning for his new job. Pretty convincing case.SemperFidelis wrote:Gaff and Masten everywhere at stoppages. Maybe if any of our players can keep their feet it might make SOME difference. Armo has spent more time on the ground than on his feet.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

UMPIRING!! No one will talk about it as the margin is big but that first quarter was ridiculous. They wanted eagles to win. And got their wish early.
Needs investigation its beyond a joke.
Little holds on them FREE... HOLDS ON US??? NO FREE.
Delibrete??? SERIOUS???

Yes agree they look flat and disinterested in the main. Gresham as you say looks like he wants to impress.SemperFidelis wrote:I think Mullet is right. We look flat and it is not surprising. We have to learn to bounce back better, but we do have a lot of kids and it takes time.

Football is TEAM football these days and so if you have many players not switched the opposition really slaughters you if they are up and about...and WC are definitely on their game.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Eagles @ Subi
Riewoldt's shanked his couple of shots at goal. It's one of those days where hardly anything goes right.
I'm expecting a better second half, by really, the damage was done in the first 15 minutes.
Five to Kennedy in the first FFS. Got to have a key defender on someone like him. What were they thinking?

Re: Match Thread Saints v Eagles @ Subi
Still think we did a poor job at the selection table. Taller defender (Lee) should have been played and a 2nd ruckman, preferably Pierce, would have been handy.
