Changes for next week
Outs:
Lonie - couldn't get the footy today, having some serious 2nd year blues, needs to get his touch and confidence back in the VFL
Membrey - did ok but wasnt much of a forward prescence
Minch - struggling to have much impact in the last 2 games
Ins:
Sinclair - if fit goes straight back in with his class and clever ball use
Paddy - was a great focal point in the VFL and we could have used him today to split open a flooded forward line
Murdoch - time for him to see if he can translate his good kicking from VFL to the main show which will be handy in WA

Re: Changes for next week
no way membrey goes out. sinclair in for lonie. armo might be out injured so maybe two players in next week, unless a few need resting - want to beat essendon after the trip out west so need some fresh legs then.

Re: Changes for next week
Lonie and meatball out for Sinclair and Paddy
Another big job for our undersized defence trying to cover Kennedy, darling, nic nat and lycett
On the flip side Roo could have a field day on the wing at Subi
Leave paddy, Bruce and skunk as targets up forward with Sinclair, weller, billings and Gresham at their feet

Re: Changes for next week
The bottom 3 on the possessions list.
Plus I have concerns re Webster, Weller and Geary
Next - who comes in?
Sandringham are performing so that performance must be acknowledged and rewarded.
Hard, fast and vast surface so leg speed is vital - plus negating their strengths.

Re: Changes for next week
Young players will be inconsistent and the reat of it BUT lonies and minchington are awesome!!
Great skill and poise and pressure! They will be stars. This whole team will be stars. We are so young.
Membrey is growing. Dont drop him he was a great target are you serious!! 3 goals in low scoring game against top team and outmarked rooey in one contest too!!
Lonie while
Quiet did some very smart things. Im not sure what it is thats not clicking BUT when it does Lonie will be unbelievable.
Sinclair Lonie McCartin Goddard McKenzie templeton dunstan acres membrey all future guns.
What a 2 drafts!!! Seriously good.

Re: Changes for next week
Sinclair in is the only obvious one or me. Really missed him as an extra link up player running through the mid, lonie and minch not quite providing what sinclair did against the Dees.
And I dont see why Paddy can't play along side this team in the forward line SO LONG as we play 1 ruck. Whats the difference between teams running 2 rucks and resting one in the forward line seeing as we never put hickey down there.

Re: Changes for next week
Is the game at Subiaco, a long ground?
If it's at a big ground Paddy might struggle. There is no way I'd leave Membery out, he's been fantastic for us the last couple of weeks. Reminds me of Aaron Hamil, but possibly better. He adds a unique dimension to our forward line.
Lonie and Minchington were a bit quiet and if Sinclair is fit it would be good to get him back.
If Armitage is injured I'd like to try Murdoch.
Not sure where Goddard is up to, and not sure who Paddy would replace. Perhaps another week in the 2nds for them.

Re: Changes for next week
Tough ground; tough opponent. Can't see too many unforced changes.
The game the following week is at Etihad against the Bombers which, in a delicious sense of irony, provides us with an opportunity to "experiment" with our players

Re: Changes for next week
I'm not the biggest Membrey fan but who in their right mind would drop a bloke who's knicked 3 goals the week after kicking 5?
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

Membrey out,surely you're joking!!
8 goals in 2 weeks, surely that's "forward presence" .
Re: Changes for next week
Now I'm in a more sober state, upon reflection I was rather rash in proposing the expulsion of a certain Mr Membrey after another goal scoring spree from the taped-shouldered one. Was just keen to get Paddy in. He might need to wait another week.

Re: Changes for next week
Why can't we play both? Membrey's an in-between size who can play taller or smaller. He's a natural goal-kicker who provided more than either Lonie or Minchington yesterday in that he hit the scoreboard. I don't see he and Paddy as being mutually exclusive, particularly with Riewoldt enjoying his new roaming roleBluthy wrote:Now I'm in a more sober state, upon reflection I was rather rash in proposing the expulsion of a certain Mr Membrey after another goal scoring spree from the taped-shouldered one. No way Membrey goes out. Sinclair comes in if fit for Lonie. McCartin not fit enough to play Subi
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Changes for next week
Look forwardto seeing them all play together. ..but I'm in favour of Paddy having 6 weeks getting fit and hungry at Sandy before he forces his return.Bluthy wrote:Now I'm in a more sober state, upon reflection I was rather rash in proposing the expulsion of a certain Mr Membrey after another goal scoring spree from the taped-shouldered one. Nee!
Re: Changes for next week
Maybe. I'd just be worried we are going to be a bit slow on the long Subi oval as Paddy isn't the quickest. Eli might be handy as he's been running his guts out in the VFL chalking up stacks of possessions.bigcarl wrote:Why can't we play both? He needs to kick 6 or 7 at Sandy and dominate a game. 2 goals doesn't cut for me.fugazi wrote:Look forwardto seeing them all play together. ..but I'm in favour of Paddy having 6 weeks getting fit and hungry at Sandy before he forces his return.Bluthy wrote:Now I'm in a more sober state, upon reflection I was rather rash in proposing the expulsion of a certain Mr Membrey after another goal scoring spree from the taped-shouldered one. Re: Changes for next week
Sinclair for Lonie
Eli for Minch - or will Roberton come straight back in if he's fit and move Gilbo up the ground?
Richo said Armitage was only taken off as a precaution so hopefully he'll play
