In the third quarter I think we had the kick about 55 metres out and a North player ran across the mark - just totally ignored by the umpire.

How can it be a block against Hickey - surely he doesn't have to get out of Goldsteins way - Hickey is in the correct position and Goldstein jumps all over him - should have been a Hickey free kick.

At the end the umpire should have given a free kick against the North player for blatant time wasting.

I think it was Harvey who ran through, I noticed it too. Was after a downfield where we marked the ball anyway. Stalled any play on and the 50 was flooded by the time the kick was off.

And ruck calls are a joke, penalising a player for getting into a better position. If that's a free then Bruce being blocked repeatedly on forward 50 entries is the exact same thing.

It's f*cking ridiculous, rucks push and shove one another constantly. So it's ok when they are both doing it in unison but not just one ruck? Hickey still competed for the tap! Montagna's hand in the back of Harvey is another joke. The rule was meant to be for a dangerous shove, now a light hand on the back gives them another goal.

Every week people here whinge about the umpires and conspiracies and "what are we going to do about it???????". Yes umpires make s*** decisions - they tend to favour the top teams as their players are first in at the footy, have more disposals, and have the experience to milk frees. When we are up it will go our way. Right now it doesn't matter too much. Get over it.

Never been so angry after a game. Some jerk off in green decides it after two teams have gone hard at for 120 minutes. We were screwed all day in reality so the match-winning call shouldn't have come as a surprise

Tim Lane wrote a fine article in today's Age, about just what the AFL's priorities really are. They are not a sporting competition, they're investment managers.

They keep dishing up the same rubbish, and they will kill the game.

As for the egomaniacs who officiate, there really is something seriously wrong with them. I'm convinced their psychological disorder(s) need serious examination, and is worth naming - 'Chamberlain Syndrome'?

Bloody umpires should be seen and not heard. When will they stop making these cameo appearances in games where it influences a result. They need to stay out of the limelight and call a game with consistency.
