Paddy
big question re this weeks' team is whether or not Paddy makes the cut.
I say yes.
Haven't watched much (any?) norf games this year but from all reports their game plan is more akin to yesteryear's, less sling shot off half back and more of a traditional set up. If this is the case I don't think selecting paddy will have the detrimental effect that it would do against say the dogs or GWS.
Forward line of
Billings, Roo, Membrey
Sincs, Bruce, Paddy
with roo roaming the wings when need be and giving a chop out in defence against the dish and purgatory (Waite)

Re: Paddy
IF we were to assume the model that player's must earn their position in the team, then Paddy won't make the cut.
This is not so much do to Paddy's form, but rather Membrey's form.
In: Lonie, Lee
Out: Minchington, Gresham

Re: Paddy
Paddy might come in and Roo play up the field again - that's been working pretty well. I think they will be keen to get games into Paddy and get him working in sync with Bruce. Maybe Minch or Gresh to go out. Maybe Gresham as he was solid without setting the world on fire. His first year so tonnes of time for him to develop.

Re: Paddy
Would be interesting to see what Rooey's role would be if Paddy came in. If Norf get on a roll he'd be able to help against their bigs forwards whilst allowing St Kilda to still have a fully functioning forward line (Bruce, Membrey, Paddy). Doubt Paddy will come in though.

Re: Paddy
Everyone last week decried that we were "too small", and yet we belted our opponent. In fact, many posters said that Richo had "no clue" when it comes to selection. Hashtag the coach was right.
Paddy isn't yet good enough (but will be one day) to play in the same side as Bruce, Membrey, Riewoldt and Hickey - that's a lot of big guys, especially at Etihad.
Paddy had a great run for a few weeks, and he would have gained a lot of confidence. Time to go back to the VFL again and kick a couple of bags before he comes back to the seniors. In the meantime, Membrey gets his chance.
