I dont know why polyster was unfairly bought in to this. A very comfortable fabric. Good to get around in. Comfy and light.

And gives defensive coverage
His offensive output is secondary
First of all, I clearly did not miss the point. BM's point was a simple one and clearly grasped in my post. BM has been a big defender of Geary this season and is of the view that he does the job most weeks including today and does not get the recognition he deserves. The forum's consensus (IMO) is that whilst the above is true, too often his disposal is a liability. Don't know how you missed that.
How you read my post as patronising to Geary is beyond me as well. You would be a fun person to psychoanalyse I think... Someone tells you that your shoelace is untied you'd tell them off for criticising how your parents raised you rather than just tying your shoelace.
Like i said before, Geary's ability as a stopper is not questioned. His disposal has on multiple occasions this season stood out and not in a positive way. It was by all accounts good today.
Sorry that you find that insulting or patronising.
Geary's offensive capability may be secondary to his game, but his ability to turn the ball over cannot be discounted as it undermines the defensive aspect in that it costs goals. If his disposal didn't stand out for the wrong reasons... Like it didn't today, nobody would ever question it nor would he cop the criticism he does.
You do agree that he cops criticism by multiple people right?
Sorry if my tone is a bit patronising but it's pretty clear that you need things explained to you in detail
Don't take yourself so seriously, Septic. You sound like someone who sits on level 3 every week in your polyester with your mum filling in all the columns in your footy record. Does she admonish you when you tally up the rushed behinds wrong, septic.
Stop Geary in person and tell him how he needs to improve his game you condescending little sh!t.
Go on, send me another PM apology. It will go unanswered like the last two you've sent me.
What a weird response. I've sent you 2 PMs in total... One was an apology and you responded with an apology yourself... And one was a response to bumped thread when you asked me a question...
You're either a bit daft, a liar, or you just don't know what you're talking about.
As a general rule of thumb I don't get so emotional over the football or over other people's opinion. I don't feel the need to call them names, pun nicknames and such. You obviously do and clearly can't stand to be challenged. That bodes well for your psyche as does your belief that because I have an opinion i need to speak to the players involved. The commentators in games must have to make a lot of phone calls during the week.
In the future, could you please stay on topic like BM has.
Don't wait up for an apology either
Better still, why don't you start a "We should have played Paul Cahill" thread.

Why don't call both and tell them why you think they didn't deserve a shot?
You're posting is so confused... So you're criticising me on one hand for saying someone could be better, and then on the other hand you're criticising me for saying a player should have had more of a shot.
Well which is it Goldilocks, is the porridge too hot or cold?
How about instead constantly focusing on whether I'm too negative or positive... Ever considering actually posting about football? Go on hot shot, throw you're own opinions out there

Re: Jeff Gartlett
Oh dear you are upset aren't you.
I don't know why, we're just talking football here after all. Well in fairness I'm talking football. You haven't actually contributed anything football related to this thread opting to go down the path of name calling, abuse and plays on names.
It's odd that you're so upset though considering how much you're willing to dish it out and how quickly you resort to that. One can only surmise that my little psychoanalysis and the observation that you don't like to be challenged hit closer to home then you care to admit.
As a clinician here's my advice to you. In the future stick to talking football rather than trying to flame someone for having an opinion and then getting all pissy about it when you get some back. Also I doubt Jarryn Geary is so psychologically frail that he needs you to have his back after some nobody on a fan forum suggests an area of his game that could be improved. I'm sure he generally listens to the coaches for feedback, so you don't need to be s martyr there.
And I don't need to call him either... It's why we have a FAN FORUM to discuss football.
Hope you can try utilising the forum for it's intended purpose.
In the future, I'll try to refrain from responding to you or commenting on your posts as it's obviously as football opinions are obviously very upsetting to you. Good luck.
Apologies to the forum for being off on a tangent. I will stop.

Garlett
What ever!!!
I don't care to much about opposition players, especially ex Carlton forward Pocket down hill skiers that pack up their kit bag when opposed to a tough c### like Geary who won't let them get an easy kick.
Btw
Do you judge a persons football knowledge on whether he can spell AFL players names??

Especially when the spelling doesn't equate to the pronunciation.

I care as much about that as GARTLETT (or whatever his name is?) does about having to work hard to get a kick!!!!

Re: Jeff Gartlett
I don't disagree... Comparing him to say a Steven Baker though who played a similar role but pbly had even less offensive abilty, and was maybe slower. He didn't, if I'm not mistaken, receive the same level of... Lets call it doubt, from outside the club. Baker's disposal whilst not exactly elite level didn't stand out for the wrong reasons as often.BigMart wrote:There is no such thing as a perfect player
Roo missed two today, switched to Ross and turnover goal and had a HB smothered another goal
Webster turnover goal
Steven often flips it, as does many of our players... Including Geary
You balance that with how effective they play their role
Point- he plays his role well
4th in past years B&F would suggest as much

I find it interesting that the 3 guys who are most criticised for their poor disposal on this site, Dempster, Gilbert and Geary are currently 4th, 5th and 6th for disposal efficiency % at the club and all are well over the league average.
Geary will never be a superstar but if i was going into battle, I would much rather him on my side.

Everyone agrees with this however it's not war, it's footy and Geary isn't very good at it. In the first qtr against Melb his first 3 or 4 possies were all straight to the opposition. He's absolutely hopeless with the ball in hand. Dempster specialises in kicking the ball out on the full and Gilbert can't even handball properly.

Please don't speak on others behalf... Just add you own opinion and that only fwiw
Which in this case is not worth much (IMO of course)
Anyone with some brain fuction can learn players names... It really is lower order thinking. Understanding the game and being able to analyse why teams performed or not is more impressive.
How did you see Geary's game on Garlett (thanks for correcting me on his name, it's a significant matter!) or are you like many uniformed morons, unable to comprehend his value?!

People like to fit in - they like to conform to the majority. It's easy to blend in with popular opinion, even if popular opinion is moronic.
Now it's turned into a thread on spelling mistakes has it?
