I thought he was complimentary to St Kilda
And now the article "these guys didn't want you" has been taken off the AFL app. The media and who ever put their name to that headline have put the truck in reverse and backed up. They wanted a I told you so moment and to lay the boots in to the saints for picking McCartin. Weak media weak
It was 'This MOB Didn't Want You'...all class. The club ought to give them a wrap over the knuckles for such openly one-sided, cheap article like that on the AFL's own website.
Agree. This was an inflammatory ridiculous and biased article. Since when does picking a player in the draft mean you dont want the next player picked? We didnt see an article on De Goey when Collingwood played Melbourne saying THIS MOB DIDNT WANT YOU JORDAN.
And then to remove it once things didn't pan out for them. Weak
Link?
Was removed from the AFL website rather swiftly this afternoon. Maybe around half time.
Whilst I haven't read this whole thread, I have read enough to be disappointed with certain saints fans. Why the hell are we judging 18 year old kids and already labelling them cocky and arrogant? How many actually know him? Why is our Paddy suddenly a better bloke and team orientated than Petracca? How quick everyone is to judge.
Did anyone read the article of how Petracca flew a 9 yr old with muscular dystrophy and his dad to Melbourne to watch yesterday's game? The biggest day of his life and he's thinking of someone else. I don't know Petracca myself but I do know a young bloke who knows him very well. This young guy is a terrific well adjusted young guy and doesn't hang out with knobs. Reckons Petracca is a great guy and well respected amongst his peers. I don't know paddy at all but I hope he's a good fella. I don't reckon we need to be running 2nd year players down to make ourselves feel better about who we drafted. Let's hope they both turn into champions

Poor structure by me, my main gripe with basil is just his commentary in general, tries way too hard, especially when he is trying to be like commetti. Salem was hurt " well that's just salems lot" ugh. Worst he's ever done was last year "high fyfes all round" (high fives)

Well he's trying to be one of the boys. I just pay attention to the action and not so much the commentary. Bryan Taylor is the one that grates me.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Is the boy an idiot?!
Apparently kept sending SMS messages to Roos saying I'm ready to play, pick me etc. he does seem somewhat immature. The other fluffy stuff would likely be organized by his manager and the club.
And the president said " I did not have sex with that woman"
And our former president said " Football is like golf"
Bizarre, the "Hey Petracca" article is totally GONE. Poor form by AFL news team, first to publish it
and then to erase it from existence, as Winston Smith would have done in 1984, the novel that is.
Oh well, gives us more time to re-read Jake Niall's infamous 'bob-each-way' article from last year - http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/m ... ikghj.html
Didn't rate his first game to be honest. He may turn out to be a great player at AFL level, but I'm happy we choose Paddy over him.
We already have youngsters in the squad who may turn out to be way more valuable than Petracca in the long run. Time will tell.
Meh, good luck to him, looked alright for a first gamer and quite likely to turn out a star. I don't think there'd be any angst on here had the AFL and the media not decided Paddy v Petracca wasn't Judd v Ball all over again and attempted to rub the clubs face in it. I hope they both turn out stars, but especially Paddy.

LOL... That Jake Niall article... still makes me laugh.
