From the match report already up on the club website :The Fireman wrote:Surprised how good he was getting the hard ball in close.st.byron wrote:Yep I see what you mean....agile and effective around the ground. Great at the stoppages. He's looking like he's really taken a step into A grade ruckman territory. Lots of Hickey love going on here. The big fellas need time don't they? Isn't it amazing how someone can just find their groove seemingly overnight. When in reality it's the outcome of years of effort and development. The Fireman wrote:reminds me of a young spider.Con Gorozidis wrote:Hickey is just so bloody good. So smart. Around the packs he just knows what to do. The way he keeps his arms free to get off a handball in traffic is A grade.MC Gusto wrote:Hickey was great.
"The battle within in a battle between Gawn and St Kilda ruckman Tom Hickey had featured prominently in much of the pre-game build-up, and with good reason given Gawn’s first five games of the year, which had prompted some pundits to suggest he was on the cusp of dethroning All Australian Todd Goldstein.
But after Gawn begun the better of the pair, Hickey restricted Gawn’s potency around the stoppages and looked the more dangerous of the two around the ground. If he isn’t the most improved player at the Saints thus far in 2016, he’s clearly in the top few, as his dependable performance suggested."

Well I guess Melbourne having a Mad Monday and releasing a DVD titled 'The Streak' after winning two games in a row wasn't such a great idea after all?

This was a channel 7 game but the Foxtel commentators are not much better - especially Dwwayne. The Fireman wrote:commentators on Foxtel sounded almost pissed of that we were smashing Melb.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

hate delayed telecasts. can't partake in the banter on game threads and there's no one else for 2000 kays in any direction that follows the saints! walk into the local sports shop, full of supporter gear. i ask 'what, all the saints gear sold already?' they just laugh. surely they could order just one or two and maybe a tourist will buy one?
great win!
great win!

Boys are very happy with that win. Really needed it after the Hawks disappointment and the let down the following week. Good to have a win at Etihad too.

I'd forgotten that insect turd Bugg was a Dreamon. Haven't forgiven him for his cowardly bump on Roo last year. Maggot

There never seen on here after we have a win. Shitypest is a Melbourne supporter so that makes it even betterevo wrote:Would have thought citywest and gosaintas would be celebrating the win with us tonight.

Would have been nice to have Carlslile yesterday to play on Hogan. Would not have had 7 kicked on him.
Can't wait to have him in the side next year.
