Good to see Robbo back on the track this morning and getting some miles into the legs.

Rough estimate how long he'll be out?

Important player in the back half for mine.

Great news Tony. We need to make sure he is 100% right before he comes back. He is a tremendous contributor when fit.

Roo will be right. Spent some time on the bike and a quiet kick around. Joey did some laps. Depends on how he pulls up after Thursday's session.
And Blake did double the work of everyone else.

Joey has a niggle Tony? And thanks for the info you share on the forum. It's much appreciated.

He had 4 kilos of ice strapped to his hammy (high up) after the game and was limping. Probably limping due to the masses of ice he was carrying on his leg more than the hammy itself. Richo stated it was just tight.

Can you give us an insight into why Acres was dropped, and then not played at all this week?
Seems a horrible waste

They always hold back one of the emergencies in case of an injury on match day or in the warmup.
Acres was the choice which probably means he was 23rd man for the game.
I am sure he will play this week and he obviously did extra work to compensate for not playing.

the unfortunate scheduling issue- they need to save a player in case of injury in warm up or hold over niggles on players selected- the other two emergencies did play for Sandy.

that player then ends up doing extra training running- last year there was repeated vision of players who were subs doing extra laps after games.
If AFL team plays on the Saturday and VFL on the Sunday it is more ideal. but rare, and doesn't work if team playing interstate- although players have been known to fly back from the other state during games if they didn't play to be available the next day.

Looks like Acres is definitely in. I reckon Membrey needs to play for Lonie. He's certainly been underwhelming given he was a good junior player. But I suppose that's stating the obvious.

There are a few reasons why he was dropped. The main one is simple......just hasn't got a big enough tank yet so doesn't work hard enough when he hasn't got the ball. Bit like Seb last year. He'll get there, lots of work being put into him. Spudda had him one on one for an hour this morning.

Likewise Tony. Thanks. All those posting about whether Acres is up to it and suggesting he isn't, patience patience and patience. We have a good core of young fellas and they need time to develop. It's coming.

@Tony, any news on Dunstan? He only played 64% game time after coming back from injury - was this just a precaution?

I noticed he was definitely the most interchanged player for the day as I was sitting near the Saints bench.

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
