Well what happens if a player gets injured in the warmup - if Acres is already replacing Geary, we have no emergency to replace a player possibly getting injured or ill just prior to the game? The other players named as emergencies, all played for Sandi today. Bit risky ain't it? Oh well maybe Freeman can be the emergency- he didn't get to play!!!!!!!!!

Well Membrey or Longer get to do a Mark Scott and play for the Saints Seniors and Reserves on the one weekend. Though he did it on the one day.


There were some Saints who did not play as no Sandi Seconds this weekend, but I do not know if AFL Rules would allow swapping them in without a big fine.

Yes a club got fined by the AFL last week for doing just that. Can't recall who it was, think it was a rather sizeable sum the club had to pay too.

It was Collingwood, they were fined $5,000 for playing Jessie White last week against Melbourne when he wasn't named as an emergency.
Didn't do them any good did it? Lost the match & $5,000 out of their kitty!

No. He has only played 75% of a Sandi Devoplement game and so taht is not going to happen. Would most likely need another 3-5 games before even being considered for selection.

The OP was a case of wishful thinking I suspect. I'd like to see Acres in, too. No doubt he will force his way in with stellar form at a lesser level, which, incidentally he can't do as an emergency.

Always feel sorry for the emergency or emergencies who dont play. Kids want to play football. Missing games can't be good for development or confidence.
