I would have cried if he kicked that goal. Bad luck to him, was happy with his game for the most part.

He is going to be the man out there for us. No defender will ever feel safe with Paddy and Bruce circling like pack splitting great white sharks. And he dropped a few he should have taken - when they really start to stick - look out. And turns a bit of that fat into muscle he'll be a brute

Newnes, Ross, Billings all 25 possessions plus along with Joey, Armo and Savage. Mid-field developing.

That mark was one for the ages. Give him another 50 games and he'll take those corkers like last week and this and convert them 90% of the time. So bloody exciting, took the roof off here when he clunked today's.

There looked a good turn up of Saints supporters at the game. Good on those that made the effort. The noise coming from Saint supporters was loud & clear from behind the goals

I was there with the other members in the northern terrace , behind the goals. saints handed the ball over so many times, kicked out on the full especially in the first half and generally wasted it so much it was really a testament to how well we played generally if you can leave out clangers that it was so close.
McCartin's screamer was obviously great and so encouraging but there was an earlier one nearly as good- high ball, a little swirly but he planted himself in just the right position early while others shifted around him, and grabbed it so strongly it never looked like coming out. Kicked the goal .
Another thing- he's not slow. He was in a chase on the flank and really motored.
He doesn't lead and command the ball- when that comes and they kick to him( the number of times they had to kick to Lonie or Sinclair in a contest because no one led towards the ball carrier was ridiculous) he will be much improved.

He was really good today and he deserved a goal from that very impressive pack mark. It wasn't far off a major and he also showed he has a bit of speed after all. When Paddy and Bruce develop physically they will shake up quite a few defences!

I was at the game ... I am positive.. Would appreciate if you could show me the stats on possessions by game, it was at Kardiina park, I had a beer with him after the match.l I can't prove it but I will try to search
Owe you an apology , it was zero marks ...he had handfulll of possessions (around 6? ). Gabblet did say Frawley was the hardest apponents he had played on, he usually kept him under double figure possessions. I recall now that I was being teased that Gabblet would take mark of the year..A long story I married a Geelong girl who was closely related to a prominent player, so I always got invited to the presidents lunch, or rooms after the Geelong games.
Too many years ago the memory is failing...
Back on the subject Paddy is going to be more than ok, we should all be happy

And the president said " I did not have sex with that woman"
And our former president said " Football is like golf" 

Can't even find any footage of it yet!

It's not on the club's website or the AFL's as yet. Download Giphy Capture & you can make your own GIFs very easily

Cowboy McCartin!

Is certainly showing good signs of being a physical beast. Not just the mark, but the goal he kicked where the defender could not push him over.

So should work as a good contrasting key forward to more mobile Bruce.

He definitely seems to be playing more from the goal square whereas Bruce is more free roaming higher up. I think Richo likes the structure that provides. Paddy is so dangerous around goals with his size and marking that defenders can't run off him too much and it curtails their rebound. The way they obviously worked on stacking some weight on him over pre-season means they are developing him into more of that "stand and deliver" type forward. I like that contrast with BRuce too.

Plus this suits while Paddy builds his tank, which will take a few seasons.
