Re: Match Thread Saints v Hawks @ Tassie
F+++++n robbed by the umpires that last quarter.
Those two not distance decisions were crap when the Hawks consistently kicked shorter than that all day. Pus that first kick was definitely distance. Swung momentum to the Hawks.

you mean exactly like the hawks player did in our fwd 50 - didn't even try to get it out - no way would the ump pay that against his beloved hawks with Mitchell, Hodge and Rioli - deliciousmullet wrote:cannot throw yourself in like that any more. its considered dangerous. in years gone by like when hawthorn won their premierships in the 80s it was considered gutsyst.byron wrote:What was that last Hawks free for? Riold was staging for frees every time he got near the ball.

didnt say it was right, but that is the rule. thought it was fantastic desperation by our player. did hodge play with a guard on his arm. that is a disgrace and so dangerousBluthy wrote:you mean exactly like the hawks player did in our fwd 50 - didn't even try to get it out - no way would the ump pay that against his beloved hawks with Mitchell, Hodge and Rioli - deliciousmullet wrote:cannot throw yourself in like that any more. its considered dangerous. in years gone by like when hawthorn won their premierships in the 80s it was considered gutsyst.byron wrote:What was that last Hawks free for? You cant slide in to an opposition players legs anymore.
The commentators called it correctly.
That was one of the few decisions the umps got right in the last.

s*** effort.
Still lost.
They got what, eight goals off direct turnovers.
Man I wish we won that one.

Diving into the legs. Free against if you do it. It's been in for a while.
That said, just like kicking in danger, it only ever gets paid against us.

hey I dont write the rules. this is how the game has gone. what used to be gutsy is now dangerous. as I said in another post I loved the desperation by our player.st.byron wrote:Dangerous why? Well done Saints...not long now.
smile emoticon
I don't see this as a loss..I see it as an indication of great things to come
PS the free against Armitage in the dying secs ...that rule needs to be looked at.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Hawks @ Tassie
Pull your f**** head in. I certainly agree that we should have won, and that we were our own worst enemy with many turnovers costing goals, that eventually coat us the win. That's on us and it's our fault, not the umpires. WE lost that game.bigred wrote:s*** effort.

But saying the entire match was a "s**" effort"? That's pathetic and diminishing and I hope to God the players don't listen to chumps like you who tell them they gave a "s*** effort". They gave an enormous effort that in the end wasn't good enough.
" s*** effort"?! FFS, go back to that hole you hide in all season .

Do you mean the contest around our 50 meter line in the last quarter? Our guy took the legs of the Hawthorn player down low so, according to the new law, he was in error.st.byron wrote:saintsRrising wrote:Yes pro-Hawk umpiring all day.st.byron wrote:What was that last Hawks free for? Like the commentator said, 20 years ago that was good and brave play.
